When Martians arrive on planet Earth, American President James Dale (Jack Nicholson) is persuaded to extend the hand of friendship. One of the President's advisers, Donald Kessler (Pierce Brosnan), has been studying the aliens, and is keen to make peaceful contact. However, the Martians gleefully fry their greeting party from Earth, and launch an all-out attack on the planet. Various celebrity faces including Michael J. Fox, Danny DeVito and Martin Short appear briefly before being zapped by the Martian baddies in director Tim Burton's quirky spoof of alien invasion movies.

Romantic comedy starring David Tennant as an idealistic Brit who follows an aspiring actress to LA in a search for love. Richard (Tennant) is the undertaker of a small town in England but resents the mundane nature of his life and dreams of gaining success as a writer. He meets Barbara (Vinessa Shaw), an American waitress with ambitions of becoming an actress, and the two embark on a brief affair. Though Barbara soon returns to LA, she has awakened Richard's romantic side and he follows her to America without warning. Featuring cameo appearances from Johnny Depp and Jerzy Skolimowski, the LA section of the movie follows Richard as he attempts to win Barbara over and realise his ambitions of becoming a screenwriter in the unforgiving environs of Hollywood.

Jerzy Skolimowski writes and directs this comedy drama exploring the dangers of unrequited love. After leaving school, 15-year-old Mike (John Moulder-Brown) goes to work in a bathhouse where he meets and falls for fellow employee Susan (Jane Asher) who is ten years his senior. Mike is already envious of Susan's young fiancé Chris (Christopher Sanford) but the situation intensifies when he finds out that she is also having an affair. Driven mad by jealousy, Mike harrasses Susan, hoping that he will win her over. When they finally do get together, however, the consequences are disastrous.
