Chris Neilson (Robin Williams) is robbed of his blissful life with
his wife Annie (Annabella Sciorra) when he dies in a car crash. His
ghost is allowed to keep in touch with Annie by residing in one of
her paintings, but both parties remain frustrated by the mortal
divide between them. When Annie kills herself, however, she is not
allowed to join her husband, as all suicides go to hell. Chris
determines to rescue his loved one from eternal damnation,
enlisting the help of the Tracker (Max von Sydow) and Albert (Cuba
Gooding Jr) to do so.
Detroit has come to symbolise deindustrialization and the
challenges, and opportunities, it presents. As many cities struggle
with urban decline, racial and ethnic tensions and the consequences
of neoliberal governance and political fragmentation, Detroit's
relevance grows stronger. Why Detroit Matters bridges academic and
non-academic responses to this extreme example of a fractured and
divided, post-industrial city. Contributions from many of the
leading scholars on Detroit are joined by influential writers,
planners, artists and activists who have contributed chapters
drawing on their experiences and ideas. The book concludes with
interviews with some of the city's most important visionaries who
are engaged in inspiring practices which provide powerful lessons
for Detroit and other cities around the world. The book will be a
valuable reference for scholars, practitioners and students from
across disciplines including geography, planning, architecture,
sociology, urban studies, history, American studies, and economics.

This is a collection of poetry that makes poet Jessica Brooke
proud. She writes in a fearless manner. She writes with honesty,
showing her innermost self, baring her soul. She is not ashamed to
disclose any part of her past. Poetry is her way to positively cope
with any issue that may arise and is truly the most amazing gift.
The reader can relate to what Jessica Brooke and her journey
through bipolar disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Anyone
needing to heal from any illness will be aided immensely by this
book. Her work is inspiring and moving. This book is divided into
categories important to anyone's life and if a pick me up is
needed, the section "Hope" would be a perfect place to start.
Jessica was recently interviewed by Spilt Ink Poetry and published
her first book titled "The Other Side" and was featured in the
anthology "The Broke Ones Vol 2: Shadow Of Memories (Volume 2)."
PITY ISN'T AN OPTION WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO SURVIVE dystopian/blood
disorder/survival Seventeen year-old Jonas Norton is trying to come
to terms with what his blood disorder has robbed from him,
including his two most favorite things: basketball, and competing
in Hatchet Racket, Wanless' annual hatchet-throwing contest. The
facts that his father works constantly to pay for his blood tests
and Jonas can actually see the disappointment in his eyes for being
such a failure only make matters worse. And even worse than all of
that? Jonas' own twin brother, Micah, is perfectly healthy and
becoming quite the basketball player himself. Also, Hattie, the
girl Jonas has loved for forever? She has no idea how he feels.
Sixteen year-old Hattie Akerman lives down the hill from Jonas.
Though her father, Heath, tries to hide his lack of mental clarity
behind the bottle and she's pretty much given up on having any kind
of relationship with him, she would still rather her younger
sister, Lucy, not have to deal with the consequences of his
behavior. Hattie helps her mother by baking food to sell at Market
and looking out for Lucy. No matter what the rest of the town says
about her crazy father, Jonas sticks up for them. He is, by far,
her very best friend. As if things aren't complicated enough
already, Heath and Micah are unexpectedly drafted into President
Kendrick's army (an army from which no one ever returns) just days
before Thanksgiving. When Heath disappears instead of arriving at
the Meeting Place to check in, Hattie and Jonas decide they've had
enough, and take matters into their own hands. And though nothing
could have prepared them for what happens next, Hattie and Jonas
learn that hope can be seen in every situation. You just have to
know where to look.
