A heart-warming celebration of love in all its forms by the
multi-award winning illustrator of Julian is a Mermaid and Julian
at the Wedding I love you because you tell the best stories.
Because I love you, my best story is you. This powerful picture
book from Jessica Love, award winning illustrator of Julian is a
Mermaid and Julian at the Wedding, shares all the reasons - big and
small - why we love those we love. Joyful, life-affirming, and
overflowing with love, this is a book to be treasured as you
celebrate the special bond you share with your loved ones. This is
what love looks like.
A glimpse of three women dressed as mermaids leaves one boy filled with wonder and ready to dazzle the world.
"Every choice Jessica Love makes imbues the story with charm, tenderness and humor" New York TImes Book Review
While riding the subway home with his Nana one day, Julian notices three women spectacularly dressed up. Their hair billows in brilliant hues, their dresses end in fishtails, and their joy fills the train carriage. When Julian gets home, daydreaming of the magic he’s seen, all he can think about is dressing up just like the ladies and making his own fabulous mermaid costume. But what will Nana think about the mess he makes – and even more importantly – what will she think about how Julian sees himself?
The star of Julian Is a Mermaid makes a joyful return – and finds a new friend – at a wedding to be remembered.
Julian and his nana are attending a wedding. Better yet, Julian is in the wedding along with his cousin Marisol. When wedding duties are fulfilled and with a new dog friend in tow, the pair takes off to roam the venue, exploring everywhere from underneath tables to enchanting willow trees to ... muddy puddles? After all, it wouldn’t be a wedding without fun, laughter and a little magical mischief. With ingenuity and heart, author-illustrator Jessica Love tells a charming story of friendship, acceptance and celebration.

From the acclaimed author-illustrator of Julian is a Mermaid comes
a story of small moments between father and child that affirms the
comfort of finding one’s place in the world. “We’re going
camping, you and me.†“Where?†I ask. “The desert,†says
Dad. “To shake hands with the universe.†Going to bed each
night can be dark and scary. The night sky stretches out endlessly,
making one sensitive child feel small in comparison. So Dad comes
up with a plan: a night of camping out in the desert. Together, the
two load up Darlin’, the old pickup truck, and drive over the
mountain with the radio on, stopping to shoot the breeze at a
junkyard before setting up camp, jumping in sand dunes, and lying
back to name all the birds they can see. After sunset, when the
young thinker feels tiny against the vast sky, Dad knows just what
to ask – and just what to say – to soothe away fears. Maybe
this night spent under the stars (and a surprise from Mum and the
baby later) are just what is needed to show that the universe is a
friendly place.

For young John Degraffenreidt, a sleepless night is no reason to
fret when tossing and turning in bed brings a bright red crocodile
named Crosley out from under his bed. Night Buddies like Crosley
promise an evening of adventure to any not-tired-yet kid and
tonight is no different Out of bed, and into the city, John embarks
on a one-of-a-kind program with his crocodile pal. It seems like
Cros is a one-of-a-kind individual that is, until red crocs start
popping up all over the city, creating confusion, committing
crimes, and causing Crosley to go bananas at the sight of them.
The impostors must be stopped, and Night Buddies John and
Crosley are just the guys to stop them Racing blimp stakeouts high
in the sky, impostor traps organized with the help of friend, and a
never ending supply of pineapple cheesecake frozen yogurt make for
one totally super sleepless night.
When pineapple cheesecakes start disappearing from the world's only
Pineapple Cheesecake Factory across town, Crosley, a zany red
crocodile, enlists the help of young John Degraffenreidt to
straighten things out. In this adventure-fantasy, the unlikely pair
sneaks out of John's house by becoming invisible, thanks to the
I-ain't-here doodad Crosley uses from the bunch of whatchamacallits
hanging on his belt.
On the way to the subway they get better acquainted, and John
finds out the wacky reason Crosley is red, and also what happens if
he gets any water on him. They get on the Night Folks Limited train
and ride all the way to the Cheesecake Factory where they meet the
giant manager, Big Foot Mae.
There is danger ahead, but the Night Buddies must stay with
their "Program" (the Night Buddies word for Adventure) if the
world's supply of pineapple cheesecakes counts for anything. And it
surely does, especially to Crosley who is totally goofy about the
things and never seems to get his fil
