The second edition of this book illuminates the fundamental
principle and applications of probability-based multi-objective
optimization for material selection in viewpoint of system theory,
in which a brand new concept of preferable probability and its
assessment as well as other treatments are introduced by authors
for the first time. Hybrids of the new approach with experimental
design methodologies (response surface methodology, orthogonal
experimental design, and uniform experimental design) are all
performed; robustness assessment and performance utility with
desirable value are included; discretization treatment in the
evaluation is presented; fuzzy-based approach and cluster analysis
are involved; applications in portfolio investment and shortest
path problem are concerned as well. The authors wish this
work will cast a brick to attract jade and would make its
contributions to relevant fields as a paving stone. It is
designed to be used as a textbook for postgraduate and advanced
undergraduate students in relevant majors, while also serving as a
valuable reference book for scientists and engineers involved in
related fields.Â
This book explores how technological progress accelerates the
transformation of economic development by adopting a fundamental
logical approach to technological progress, intensive inputs, and
promotion of productive efficiency to transformation of economic
development. It investigates the internal mechanisms and the choice
of corresponding modes that initiate technological progress to
accelerate the transformation of economic development at three
basic research levels: micro-enterprise level, mid-industry level
and macro-economy level. Based on the above research, the book
summarizes four dimensions facilitating the transformation:
agricultural intensification, new industrialization, modernization
of the service industry and the advanced manufacturing industry,
and linkage of the modern service industry. This book is especially
valuable in its hierarchical categorization covering theoretical,
empirical, industrial and strategic exploration. On one hand, it
analyzes the mechanisms and approaches influencing the
transformation of economic development driven by technological
progress from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. On the
other hand, based on the introduction of advanced international
experiences, it probes into the guarantee basis for the strategic
implementation and the corresponding mode choices of the
transformations. Furthermore, it offers specific policy proposals
from both the macro level of how technological progress promotes
the transformation of economic development and the micro level
covering the agricultural, industrial and service industries.
This book investigates in detail the concepts and principles of
green chemistry and related methodologies, including green
synthesis, green activation methods, green catalysis, green
solvents, and green design to achieve process intensification while
at the same time ensuring process safety and promoting ecological
civilization and environmental protection. Moreover, it
incorporates elements of chemical management and chemical
education, highlighting chemists' responsibility to protect
humankind and foster green and sustainable development in
chemistry. Combining Chinese and Belarus wisdom, this book is
intended for those working in the chemical industry who are
interested in environmental protection and sustainable development,
as well as undergraduate and graduate students who are interested
in green chemistry and related technologies.
Microwave ablation is a simple, affordable, and highly precise
technique. After its successful application in treating liver
tumors, it is now widely used to combat renal tumors, adrenal
tumors, thyroid nodes, uterine fibroids and other solid tumors.
This book presents 40 successful cases of treating these diseases.
A series of picture before treatment, after treatment and from
different angles is provided for each kind of tumor treatment. In
each chapter, step by step operative techniques and illustrations
are included. This book also examines CT, NMR and ultrasonography
to evaluate the effect of microwave ablation. Editor Ping Liang, is
the Director and Professor at Dept. of Interventional Ultrasound,
General Hospital of PLA, Beijing, China. Editor Xiaoling Yu is
Professor and Chief physician, Editor Jie Yu is Associate Chief
physician at the same department.
Based on the intertwined complex conversations among Heidegger,
Dewey, and Lao Tzu, this book explores the possibilities of the
Taoist Pedagogy of Pathmarks as a clearing between truth and
untruth, responding to the spiritual call of Tao as inaction and
teaching as releasement. In this book, Yu provides a critical
exploration of the rich dynamics in the "direct" conversations
among the three great thinkers of east and west, highlighting the
implications of their ideas for education throughout. As more
educational researchers, teacher educators, and teachers recognize
the limitations of didactic teaching-as-telling, the author brings
an alternate pathway to light.
