The locus of Jim dale Huot-Vickery's life is a remote cabin in the northern wilderness of Minnesota's Boundary Waters region. More often than not, it is winter here, a fierce, beautiful season that dominates all living things with its relentless cold grip. This is the inspiration for Winter Sign, the profound story of fifteen years of surviving the seven-month-long odyssey of winter in the far north.

"We know parkas, mukluks, mittens, snowshoes, skis, and sled dogs", Huot-Vickery writes. "Snow sparkles gold on cloudless winter mornings. There are shell-pink sunsets. Written, directed and starring Eric Sykes as a workman whose individual aptitude is nil and along with his sidekick (Tommy Cooper) they are mutually chaotic, disorganised and magnets to disorder. Set with the task of laying the floorboards of a house they are faced with catastrophe when one of them uses the last plank as firewood and they are then forced to track down a spare plank.

Although seemingly straightforward its anything but and makes for hysterical entertainment with Sykes as his finest.

Alfred Shaughnessy directs this classic British musical spin-off from the 1950s popular music show. The film follows an aspiring young singer who catches the '6.5 Special' train to London. Much to her delight, she finds the train is filled with various famous performers including Lonnie Donegan, Dickie Valentine, Petula Clark and Joan Regan who use the duration of the journey as rehearsal time.

A Disney production mixing animation with live action. Lonely orphan boy Pete (Sean Marshall) finds a new friend in a surprising form: Elliott, a 12-foot tall dragon that has the power to make itself invisible. Together they innocently cause chaos in their sleepy hometown, but their partnership is put in jeopardy when a visiting medicine seller (Jim Dale) tries to kidnap Elliott.

Tenth entry in the 'Carry On' series. Able seaman Poop-Decker (Bernard Cribbins) signs up for adventure on the high seas with the wicked Captain Fearless (Kenneth Williams). Those swabbing the decks include Juliet Mills, Charles Hawtrey and Donald Houston. The film was originally to be entitled 'Up the Armada', but the British Board of Film Censors objected to such a rude title.

Eleventh entry in the 'Carry On' series. Marshall P. Knutt (Jim Dale), a former sanitary engineer, becomes the sheriff of Stodge City in the Wild West and must help a young woman beat the Rumpo Kid (Sid James), the outlaw who shot her father. Those getting off their horses and drinking their milk include Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims and Bernard Bresslaw (making his 'Carry On' debut).

Twelfth entry in the 'Carry On' series. Detective Bung (Harry H. Corbett) investigates a mad professor (Kenneth Williams) and his sister, who are turning their victims into shop window dummies. Those hamming it up in this Hammer horror spoof include Charles Hawtrey, Jim Dale, Joan Sims and Fenella Fielding.

Fifteen years later they emerge from prison intent on retrieving their stolen loot - and discover a police station has been built over its hiding place. Sylvia Syms, Dick Emery, Jim Dale and Joan Sims co-star.

Sid James triple. In 'The Big Job' (1965), a gang of hapless crooks successfully perpetrate a robbery only to be caught after the fact. Fifteen years later they emerge from prison intent on retrieving their stolen loot - and discover that a police station has been built over its hiding place. Sylvia Syms, Dick Emery, Jim Dale and Joan Sims co-star. In 'Make Mine a Milluion' (1959), an ad-man teams up with a make-up artist in a cunning plot to advertise Bonko detergent on non-commercial television. Despite the trouble it causes, the plan proves a great success and the two chaps soon set up a pirate television station with the intention of beaming their advertisements into other company's TV shows. Again the idea proves successful - but just how long can these two go on avoiding their come-uppance? 'The Lavender Hill Mob' (1951) is a classic Ealing comedy. Nobody would ever suspect gold bullion delivery man Henry Holland (Alec Guinness) of anything other than total devotion to his job. However, with the aid of fellow lodger Pendlebury (Stanley Holloway), he gathers together a gang to carry out a heist, intending to smuggle the gold out of the country by melting it down into miniature models of the Eiffel Tower. All goes well until the consignment of models becomes muddled up with another, non-golden batch. Watch out for an early cameo by Audrey Hepburn.

Gerald Thomas directs this seventh film in the 'Carry On' series starring Sid James and Hattie Jacques. Charlie (James), the owner of taxi firm Speedee Taxis, finds he has some serious competition when rival company GlamCabs opens up nearby. With his company facing bankruptcy, Charlie suggests a merger only to call it off when he finds out his wife Peggy (Jacques), who started GlamCabs as a way to get back at him for years of neglect, is the new firm's mysterious owner. However, when Peggy is then kidnapped by bank robbers, Charlie is forced to put his issues to one side and rally the drivers at Speedee Taxis in a bid to rescue her and bring her home to safety. The cast also includes Kenneth Connor, Jim Dale and Cyril Chamberlain.

'Carry On' director Gerald Thomas helms this comedy caper featuring early appearances by James Robertson Justice, Sid James, Leslie Phillips, Kenneth Williams, Liz Fraser and Eric Barker. The film follows the hi-jinks of a group of music students who move into a shared flat in order to cut costs and have somewhere to practice their instruments. Things get tricky when Mervyn Hughes (Phillips) accidentally sells one of his compositions to an advertising agency and risks losing his scholarship. Can he and his friends find a way to raise the money to buy back the song rights?

Eighth entry in the 'Carry On' series. Barbara Windsor (in her first 'Carry On' appearance) plays a trainee spy in the British Secret Service, who must use all her talents to prevent an evil mastermind from the organisation S.T.E.N.C.H. obtaining a secret formula. Master spies on the case include Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey and Bernard Cribbins.
