Lone Scherfig directs this romcom, based on the best-seller by David Nicholls, about two friends who reunite every year on the anniversary of their first meeting. Since the day when they first met at their college graduation - July 15th,1988 - Emma Morley (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess) have kept in touch, meeting up again on the same day each year. Over the following two decades, the ups and downs of the relationship between the idealistic Emma and wealthy ladies' man Dexter are revisited every July 15th, as they try to take stock of their lives, and attempt to discover what they've both been missing all along.
Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess and Ben Kingsley star in this thriller based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story 'The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether'. Set in 1899, the film follows medical school graduate Dr. Edward Newgate (Sturgess) as he arrives at Stonehearst Asylum, an institute for the mentally insane. There he meets the leader of the organisation, Dr. Silas Lamb (Kingsley), and one of his patients, Eliza Graves (Beckinsale), who Newgate becomes enamoured with. Shocked by the unconventional methods Lamb uses to treat his patients, Newgate decides to leave the asylum, determined to take Eliza with him. However, he discovers that everything is not as it seems and escaping turns out to be more difficult than he imagined... The film also stars Michael Caine, David Thewlis and Brendan Gleeson.
Thriller loosely based on the autobiography by Martin McGartland, former undercover informant to the British police on the activities of the IRA. Set in Belfast in the late 1980s, the film shows how McGartland led a double life for four years while still in his early twenties, revealing nothing of his position even to close friends and family, until his cover was blown in 1991 and he was kidnapped and tortured by the IRA. Ben Kingsley co-stars as Fergus, McGartland's British 'handler'.
