While the internet provides pet parents with a great deal of
information, finding and understanding that information can be like
wading through a bog at midnight without a flashlight. In spite of
the internet, pet parents remain desperate for valid resources.
Health and Nutrition for Dogs and Cats is timely, informative, and
delivers sensible information on topics of importance to all pet
owners. From reading pet food labels to storing food, from
understanding appropriate calorie intake to food allergies, David
Wellock helps readers better understand the dietary needs of their
dogs and cats. In recent years, Americans have come to pay more
attention to the foods they eat. This trend toward a healthier
lifestyle quickly found its way into the world of pet foods,
allowing better diets to find success in the marketplace. However,
the change has been somewhat perplexing for pet parents as they
struggle to sort out the various, and sometimes misleading,
messages surrounding the new foods available to their pets. Here, a
seasoned expert in the care and feeding of dogs and cats, provides
fact-filled, no nonsense, understandable information on the topics
pet parents need to know in order to purchase and prepare food and
develop an appropriate diet for their furry charges.
This book looks at what has actually happened when new technology
has been deployed in an industrial and commercial environment. It
considers the economic impact of new technology on three groups of
organisations: firms, governments and trade unions.

This is the history of Donald Keene's family down through the ages.
It is a varied and fascinating history. This Keene lineage can
trace its ancestry through at least two lines that came to this
continent on the Mayflower. Some were very involved in the
Revolution, and the Civil War, as well as served honorably in World
War II, and Don served during the VietNam conflict. I have spent
several years researching this line, and it is the stories and
origins that make it so interesting. As in all family histories, it
is not just the names and dates that make up who we are, but where
we have been and where we came from.

Pastor Jim Walker noticed that people remembered words when they
rimed, as in a song, or in a poem. He then began to write a weekly
poem for the back side of the church bulletin to note the
highlights of his sermon for that day. The purpose was to enable
people to remember the major points of the sermon. Many of the
poems are about life, such as "Rolling Through Life," and
"Hitch-hiking to Heaven." Many of them are about Bible teachings.
Some are from the stories Jesus told, like "The Good Samaritan,"
and "The Prodigal Son." Some are about human nature, such as
"Excuses," or "The Case For Common Sense." Some are about our
country. You'll find many different important subjects treated
poetically in "POEMS from the PIONEER PULPIT." This book is a
collection of 165 "sermon poems." It is the hope of the author that
some of these poems will strike a spark and light a fire in the
heart of those who read them.
This incredible collection of over 200 old photographs and
illustrations in and around Berwick-upon-Tweed beautifully portrays
the town as it used to be. Through these pictures we discover all
aspects of the town, from buildings and shops which no longer exist
through the shipping industry to the military history of the area
and the work and leisure activities of Berwick people. Berwick has
an unique history both as a frontier town and an important trading
port. Periods of prosperity, for example through fishing and
mining, have been interspersed with periods of deprivation. The
traditional net and coble salmon fishing industry at the mouth of
the River Tweed has been an important feature of Berwick,
Tweedmouth and Spittal for 1,000 years. When the fishing stations
closed in 1988, a whole way of life was lost to the community. Jim
Walker has been interested both in photography and local history
for many years. He has been able, therefore, to bring together a
fascinating selection of pictures which will inspire many memories
in long-time residents of the area and will give newer residents an
insight into the rich history of their town.
