This book explores the importance of effective multi-agency and multi-disciplinary partnership work for the mental health of children and young people in care and adoption. It takes an overall systemic perspective, but the co-authors contribute different theoretical approaches. It focuses on practice, showing how practitioners can draw on their varied theoretical approaches to enhance the way they work together and in partnership with carers and with professionals from other agencies. The book provides a context that looks at the needs of children and young people in the care and adoption systems, the overall importance for their mental health of joined up 'corporate parenting', and national and local approaches to this. It then moves to focus on practical ways of working therapeutically in partnership with others who contribute diverse skills and perspectives, using specific case examples. Additional chapters look at collaborative ways of working with key carers to enhance their therapeutic role. Finally, some of the main elements of partnership collaboration are explored, as well as the challenges of work across agencies and disciplines.
With cities striving to meet sustainable development goals, circular urban systems are gaining momentum, especially in Europe. This research-based book defines the circular city and circular development. It explains the shift in focus from a purely economic concept, which promotes circular business models in cities, to one that explores a new approach to urban development. This approach offers huge opportunities and addresses important sustainability issues: resource consumption and waste; climate change; the health of urban populations; social inequalities and the creation of sustainable urban economies. It examines the different approaches to circular development, drawing on research conducted in four European cities: Amsterdam, London, Paris and Stockholm. It explores different development pathways and levers for a circular urban transformation. It highlights the benefits of adopting a circular approach to development in cities, but acknowledges that these benefits are not shared equally across society. Finally, it focuses on the challenges to implementing circular development faced by urban actors. This ground-breaking book will be essential reading to scholars, students, practitioners and policymakers interested in the circular economy, urban sustainability, urban ecology, urban planning, urban regeneration, urban resilience, adaptive cities and regenerative cities.

A NATO Advanced Research Workshop on the "Mechanisms of Reactions of Organometallic Compounds with Surfaces" was held in St. Andrews, Scotland in June 1988. Many of the leading international researchers in this area were present at the workshop and all made oral presentations of their results. In addition, significant amounts of time were set aside for Round Table discussions, in which smaller groups considered the current status of mechanistic knowledge, identified areas of dispute or disagreement, and proposed experiments that need to be carried out to resolve such disputes so as to advance our understanding of this important research area. All the papers presented at the workshop are collected in this volume, together with summaries of the conclusions reached at the Round Table discussions. The workshop could not have taken place without financial support from NATO, and donations were also received from Associated Octel, Ltd., STC Ltd., and Epichem Ltd., for which the organisers are very grateful. The organisation of the meeting was greatly assisted by Mrs G. MacArthur and Mr L.R. Dunley of the Chemistry Department, St. Andrews University.
Speech and language impairment can have a huge impact on cognitive development. Identifying what is going wrong and what effective intervention looks like can be daunting. Short of retraining you as a speech and language therapist, this thorough guide will give you everything you need to change that. An essential resource, the book contains a wide variety of online resources, including phonological and sound awareness documents, assessment tools, and recording forms that can be downloaded straight to your device, providing excellent materials and activities to use in the classroom. Written by speech and language therapists and designed exclusively for Early Years practitioners, this book provides a complete overview of how children acquire language and what language impairments look like at this age. You will find both strategic and practical advice on how to manage and encourage the development of speech and language skills. Creating the optimum communication environment for every child in your setting is an important part of what the book offers. Equally, practitioners are supported to be able to recognise the features of specific language difficulties such as Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and feel confident to intervene when children are struggling.

Sanctuary is the sequel to "The Secrets of Pepin View Manor" where Tyler and Lucy Benson move to the picturesque Lake Pepin area of western Wisconsin to restore the abandoned Manor house built by his great-great-grandfather. Although the whole town embraced them they are especially drawn to the quiet librarian, Beth Dent. Not much later the three are kidnapped to be included in experiments on genetically altered cells, injected into their bodies. Their faith and bond with each other saved them, along with the help of very good friends, but they are still being pursued for those cells. They know that they need friends, but some secrets can get you and your friends killed.
Although Fatal Fall is the fourth book in the Pepin View Manor mystery series, it can easily be enjoyed without having read the previous three. The small town of Mill Valley is under tight security. Reporters have moved in, trying to find information on the breaking 'story of the year'. Although the assassin is in prison awaiting trial, the board members from the Corporation and the FBI mole are running scared, trying to cover any evidence of their involvement in all the deaths and kidnappings. Tyler and Beth need to stay low, away from the limelight, away from danger. Yet danger seems to have a way of seeking them out.
Although Cold Kills is the fifth book in the Pepin View Manor mystery series, you do not have to be familiar with the storyline in order to become immersed in the lives of Tyler and Beth Benson. Even though the media attention brought on by their kidnapping is all but gone, the couple is once again drawn into danger. And once again, they and the townspeople of Mill Valley will look to Preston and the FBI agent Hank Keller to uncover the truth before it is too late. People are missing. And with temperatures well below zero, they have to be found quickly. This may be one time when Tyler and Beth's abilities are not able to save them. Maybe.
RESOLVE... Tyler and Beth are looking forward to starting a wonderful new life together, yet there are powerful organizations watching and waiting to see if the genetically-altered cells injected into their bodies have changed them. Will keeping their abilities secret save them? Or maybe, they could turn the tables and end this matter once and for all. Although Resolve at Pepin View Manor is the third book in the series, you can join the story now without having read the others.

But when Rosemary took Clown to school, she found out that this was no ordinary day, not today, and never again. It all began at the Fishers Freedom Festival. That''s where we met the clown. This clown was a female. She looked like clowns look. She had fiery red hair and a red nose. She dressed like clowns dress, in a colorful suit and wore big red shoes. She flashed a big smile and had a twinkle in one eye. But this clown did not do tricks. She did not ride a unicycle. Instead, she drove a tiny, and funny looking red car. This clown did not tell us her name, and no one asked. This clown sat us all down and spent hours just telling us how beautiful, how important, and how special we all are. She told us to always have dreams and to do our best at everything we do. She told us that if we ever doubted ourselves, to think about all the wonderful things she had told us.
