Service science constitutes an interdisciplinary approach to systematic innovation in service systems, integrating managerial, social, legal, and engineering aspects to address the theoretical and practical challenges of the services industry and its economy.

This book contains the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Exploring Services Science (IESS), held in Porto, Portugal, in February 2013. This year, the conference theme was Enhancing Service System Fundamentals and Experiences, chosen to address the current need to explore enhanced methods, approaches, and techniques for a more sustainable and comprehensive economy and society. The 19 full and 9 short papers accepted for IESS were selected from 78 submissions and presented ideas and results related to innovation, services discovery, services engineering, and services management, as well as the application of services in information technology, business, healthcare, and transportation.

The 7th International Conference on Medical Imaging and Computer Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2004, was held in Saint-Malo, Brittany, France at the "Palais du Grand Large" conference center, September 26-29, 2004. The p- posaltohostMICCAI2004wasstronglyencouragedandsupportedbyIRISA, Rennes. IRISA is a publicly funded national research laboratory with a sta? of 370,including150full-timeresearchscientistsorteachingresearchscientistsand 115 postgraduate students. INRIA, the CNRS, and the University of Rennes 1 are all partners in this mixed research unit, and all three organizations were helpful in supporting MICCAI. MICCAI has become a premier international conference with in-depth - pers on the multidisciplinary ?elds of medical image computing, comput- assisted intervention and medical robotics. The conference brings together cl- icians, biological scientists, computer scientists, engineers, physicists and other researchers and o?ers them a forum to exchange ideas in these exciting and rapidly growing ?elds. The impact of MICCAI increases each year and the quality and quantity of submitted papers this year was very impressive. We received a record 516 full submissions (8 pages in length) and 101 short communications (2 pages) from 36 di?erent countries and 5 continents (see ?gures below). All submissions were reviewed by up to 4 external reviewers from the Scienti?c Review C- mittee and a primary reviewer from the Program Committee. All reviews were then considered by the MICCAI 2004 Program Committee, resulting in the acceptance of 235 full papers and 33 short communications.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 10th International Workshop on Design, Specification, and Verification of Interactive Systems, DSV-IS 2003, held in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, in June 2003.

The 26 revised full papers and 5 revised short papers presented together with an invited paper have passed through two rounds of reviewing, selection, and improvement. The papers are organized in topical sections on test and evaluation, Web and groupware, tools and technologies, task modeling, model-based design, mobile and multiple devices, UML, and specification languages.

The conference theme of CAiSE 2005 was "Improving Communication and Understanding - Systems and Citizens." Behind this theme, we ?nd the fact that the Internet has been changing societies and economies, and the way - stitutions and businesses operate has evolved rapidly. Most citizens are now - pected to interact directly with technology-based systems without direct human intermediation, usingdi?erentinterfaceappliances.Moreover, manyinformation systems interact with each other with limited human supervision. The Internet and its infrastructure play a critical role in this evolution, and it is of the utmost importance that semantic aspects are taken into consideration on a sound basis.
