Der Autor entwickelt eine erstmals geschlossene Konzeption der rechnergestutzten Qualitatssicherung (CAQ) und beschreibt deren Einbindung in die CIM-Umgebung (PPS/CAD/CAP/CAM). Die Ausgestaltung der Qualitatssicherung orientiert sich an den konfliktaren Zielsetzungen "Geringe Kostenverursachung" und "Hoher Wirkungsgrad". In der Arbeit wird der Beitrag des EDV-Einsatzes zur Auflosung des daraus resultierenden Dilemmas der traditionellen Qualitatssicherung untersucht. Hierzu werden neben den technisch-organisatorischen insbesondere die wirtschaftlichen Aspekte einer CAQ-Implementierung herausgestellt. Das breite Spektrum der CAQ-Rechnerunterstutzung wird durch die Bildung von Produktionstypen anhand alternativer Auspragungen der Strukturmerkmale Prozesstyp, Produktart, Beschaffungsmodus, Automatisierungsgrad sowie Unternehmensgrosse und den daraus resultierenden spezifischen CAQ-Einsatzschwerpunkten veranschaulicht.
