Und dies sogar in mehrfacher Hinsicht. Denn so figuriert sie einerseits als Leiche des Moments," was Susan Sontag in Uber Photographie bestarkt, wenn sie kommentiert: Es sei ihre Strategie, lebendige Wesen in leblose Dinge zu verwandeln und leblose Dinge in lebendige Wesen" . Andererseits ist die Einfuhrung der Technik der Fotografie in gewisser Hinsicht ebenfalls als Mord aufzufassen. Einen solchen Standpunkt vertritt etwa William J. Mitchell, dessen These folgendermassen lautet: From the moment of its sesquicentennial in 1989 photography was dead - or more precisely, radically and permanently displaced - as was painting 150 years before" . Dabei wird nun die Fotografie ihrerseits zum Mordopfer. Als Tater tritt hier jedoch die Digitalisierung und der allmachtige Computer" auf den Plan. In eigentumlicher Weise wird somit, um es in den Worten Stieglers auszudrucken, die fur die Photographie oft bemuhte Todesmetapher zur historischen Klammer ihrer Geschichte" . Ich bin 85 Jahre jung und m chte 96 werden. Es fehlen mir nur noch wenige Jahre um "Mein Jahrhundert" zu vervollst ndigen. Das vorliegende Buch "Mein Jahrhundert" behandelt meine Zeit im verflossenen 20.-ten Jahrhundert, Es war eine sch ne -- schlimme -- gl ckliche -- traurige -- freudige Zeit. Es ist ein Jahrhundert voller Ereignisse, ... voll mit Tiefen und H hen. -- 1924, die Inflation lief aus, wir waren franz sisch besetzt, mein Leben begann. Mein Heimat-Bereich ist das Rheinland, genauer gesagt: Kreuzau, (Regierungs-Bezirk Aachen) unweit der niederl ndischen und belgischen Grenze. -- Mein Vater wird beruflich nach Berlin versetzt. Ich lerne das Berlin der Vorkriegs-, und Kriegs-Zeit kennen. 1942 wurde ich Soldat -- Kriegsmarine -- u. a.
