First instalment of the fantasy adventure series based on the novel by
J.K. Rowling. On his eleventh birthday, orphan Harry Potter (Daniel
Radcliffe) discovers that he is a wizard when he receives a letter of
acceptance into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Schoolboy Kevin is rescued from his dull suburban life when a gang of dwarves emerge from his wardrobe and carry him off through space and time. Their travels bring them into contact with some leading historical figures; John Cleese is Robin Hood and Sean Connery is Agamemnon in this bizarre comedy made by several Monty Python members.
Another adventure for the intrepid time traveller. The Doctor (Tom Baker) and Romana (Lalla Ward) are holidaying in Paris when they stumble across the mysterious Count Scarlioni (Julian Glover) to steal the Mona Lisa. With the aid of inept detective Duggan (Tom Chadbon) they discover that the Count already has several Mona Lisas walled up in his cellar - all of them painted by Leonardo Da Vinci - and when the Doctor finds out that Scarlioni is also conducting time experiments he begins to realize that his latest foe is not all that he seems... Due in part to an independent television strike, this story achieved the series' highest ever viewing figures, with the final episode peaking at 16.1 million.
____________________________ We can all be more creative. John Cleese shows us how. Creativity is usually regarded as a mysterious, rare gift that only a few possess. Drawing on his lifelong experience as a writer, he shares his insights into the nature of the creative process, and offers advice on how to get your own inventive juices flowing. ____________________________ 'Humorous and practical ... Cleese fans will enjoy, and writers and other artists will breeze through, picking up a few nuggets of wisdom along the way' The Festival Review 'A sincere and thoughtful guide to creativity, and a very useful book' Graham Norton 'Wise words on the serious business of being silly' Sunday Business Post
A candid and brilliantly funny memoir... ...of how a tall, shy youth from Weston-super-Mare went on to become a self-confessed comedy legend. En route, John Cleese describes his nerve-wracking first public appearance at St Peter's Preparatory School at the age of eight and five-sixths; his endlessly peripatetic home life with parents who seemed incapable of staying in any house for longer than six months; his first experiences in the world of work as a teacher who knew nothing about the subjects he was expected to teach; his hamster-owning days at Cambridge; and his first encounter with the man who would be his writing partner for over two decades, Graham Chapman. And so on to his dizzying ascent via scriptwriting for Peter Sellers, David Frost, Marty Feldman and others to the heights of Monty Python. Punctuated from time to time with John Cleese's thoughts on topics as diverse as the nature of comedy, the relative merits of cricket and waterskiing, and the importance of knowing the dates of all the kings and queens of England, this is a masterly performance by a former schoolmaster.
Big-budget remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film about an alien and a giant robot who visit Earth. Keanu Reeves stars as Klaatu, the inhabitant of a flying saucer that lands in Washington DC after orbiting Earth. Along with Gort, his indestructible robot companion, Klaatu sets out to discover all he can about this strange planet and its peculiar inhabitants. Along the way he meets Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) and her son Jacob (Jaden Smith), who become his only real friends and end up saving his life. Kathy Bates and John Cleese co-star.
Michael Caine and Roger Moore play two con-men who decide to perpetrate a heist disguised as the dodgy scientists Dr Hicklar and Sir John Bavistock, whilst the real scientists (also played by Caine and Moore) are, unknown to their impersonators, trying to sell a secret formula to the highest bidder. John Cleese, Patsy Kensit and Jenny Seagrove make brief cameo appearances in this comedy.
Pierce Brosnan's fourth outing in the 20th Bond film. 007 has spent the last 12 months in a North Korean prison - after being captured whilst on assignment by government agents - and when he is finally freed his superiors are worried that he will not be up to the job. That is until Bond discovers that one of his former captors, Zao (Rick Yune), has teamed up with the evil Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and the pair plan to put the fate of the entire world in jeopardy. Bond must once again save the world whilst also keeping his quota of glamorous women in tow (Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike), using the gadgets provided by Q (John Cleese) and travelling the world in the most expensive cars. Madonna provides the theme tune and also has a cameo role.

What did Basil Fawlty fail to avoid mentioning? Why did Sybil keep snagging her cardies? Where was Polly on the night of the great wedding anniversary disaster? And what is the Spanish word for "donkey"?The answer to all these questions can be found in this, the complete and unexpurgated scripts of Fawlty Towers ,the most celebrated "Brit-com" of all time, and the show was voted the top UK television series ever by the British Film Institute. The snobbish, manic Basil...his over-coiffeured, domineering wife Sybil...the hopeless but ever-hopeful waiter Manuel...the calm and capable Polly...and of course the steady stream of abused guests, all live again in the pages of The Complete Fawlty Towers. Gahan Wilson in the New York Times has called John Cleese "arguably one of the funniest people now living." And as one British periodical ( Literary Review ) put it, the book is "superbly well written. If you're on a bus and can't see Basil Fawlty thrashing his car with a large branch, it is some compensation to read it happening." Or as one anonymous fan put it on-line: "Yes, it's all here, all the comedy, the frustration, the dead body, even the rat."

Since 1999, Cleese has provided Cornell students and local citizens with his ideas on everything from scriptwriting to psychology, religion to hotel management, and wine to medicine. He has given a sermon at Sage Chapel, narrated Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with the Cornell Chamber Orchestra, conducted a class on script writing, and lectured on psychology and human development. Each time Cleese has visited the campus in Ithaca, NY, he held a public presentation, attended and or lectured in classes, and met privately with researchers. From the archives of these visits, Professor at Large includes an interview with screenwriter William Goldman, a lecture about creativity entitled, "Hare Brain, Tortoise Mind," talks about Professor at Large and The Life of Brian, a discussion of facial recognition, and Cleese's musings on group dynamics with business students and faculty. Professor at Large provides a window into the workings of John Cleese's scholarly mind, showcasing the wit and intelligence that have driven his career as a comedian, while demonstrating his knack of pinpointing the essence of humans and human problems. His genius on the screen has long been lauded; now his academic chops get their moment in the spotlight, too.

Feature-length Disney animated adventure with Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Eeyore, Owl and Christopher Robin.
