Alwyn Ross is an animation historian doing research on the so-called Golden Age of Animation when he stumbles upon a long occluded mystery that rattles him to his very core, and may cost him his life. "The Blue Man" is a unique mix of fiction combined with elements of real-life animation history revealed for the first time anywhere.
These are tumultous times. In the midst of all the chaos, confrontation and contentiousness, I sought out the Psalms for inspiration. From these, I crafted heartfelt odes to civility and kindness that I call the "Civility Psalms." Herein you will find those poems along with corresponding essays that describe the inspiration and thoughts that lead to their writing. Based upon the first 25 Psalms, these works stand alone as gentle reminders that love, cooperation, and understanding are yet viable options for our modern world. To that end, all proceeds from this book (and companion CD) go to "Brick by Brick for Tanzania , Inc.," the tax-exempt 501c3 non-profit organization I founded, which builds preschools in Africa and sets by example a model of another way. In our schools, Muslim, Christian, and pagan boys and girls from various tribes all learn together. This model is the real-life paradigm of what the Civility Psalms are all about. - John D. Kenworthy
"The Death of O'Ryan Ross " is a harrowing tale of a young man's descent into madness and death. Torn apart by surging emotions, tortured by his own insecurities, shamed by his total obsession with a mythic young woman he just met, O'Ryan Ross alienates friends and family until he is at last all alone. Based on a word-for-word exploration of Tolstoy's novella, "Death of Ivan Ilych," the Ross Family Saga continues in this prequel to the "The Missionary and the Brute."
"silent words..." is a notebook kept by O'Ryan Ross to chronicle his final tragic days. But more than that - it is also an armchair treasure hunt filled with a cipher and codes hidden in each chapter that lead to a real cash prize. It is a hybrid book - part fiction/part game... and all intriguing.
From the uniquely twisted mind of John D. Kenworthy comes "Animated Lives " a bizarre and compelling blend of genres/styles wherein fictional animation historian, Alwyn Ross, interviews real-life animators working in short film.
In September of 2013, John Kenworthy boarded a bus bound for Morogoro, Tanzania. He carried with him only a small knapsack, a heart filled to bursting with compassion for the children of Africa, and a small blank notebook in which he hoped to document his journey. "The Beast" is the result of that journey. Initially believing that he was writing a real-time travelogue of sorts, Kenworthy discovered that he was in fact rushing ever-onward upon a 'Heart-of-Darkness' quest to the very belly of The Beast itself. Along the way, his stream-of-consciousness ramblings seemed to evolve. They began to swirl and spin like the dust eddies that trailed behind the bus as they moved ever onward. Undaunted, Kenworthy, Servant of the Dust that he is, wove sentimental stories and anecdotes of his past visits to Tanzania intertwined with heartfelt tales of the people who had influenced him most along the way, his mother, Pastor Terry - and of course, the many children of Tanzania. Oh, yes, always the children...
