John Hassan, Nancy Grace

Before Nancy Grace became the iconic legal commentator we know today, she studied Shakespearean literature at college until one moment changed her entire life and career trajectory: her fiance Keith was murdered weeks before their wedding. Driven to deliver justice to victims of criminals, Nancy became a prosecutor working in inner-city Atlanta, which, at the time, was the murder capital of the country. Now, with this potentially life-saving book, Nancy uses her experiences working with and covering families of victims of crime to help readers stay safe in the face of daily dangers. Filled with practical advice and valuable tips, Don't Be A Victim will show you how to: * Fend off the threat of street assaults and home predators * Protect yourself from online stalking and computer hackers * Stay safe in school and other public settings * Prepare for the worst case scenario -- no matter what you're facing Nancy's legal expertise will help to keep you, your family, and anyone else you care about out of harm's way.

The Seaside, Health and the Environment in England and Wales since 1800 (Hardcover, New Ed): John Hassan The Seaside, Health and the Environment in England and Wales since 1800 (Hardcover, New Ed)
John Hassan

The seaside has always held a special position in British history as a place of rest, relaxation and recuperation. Over the last 200 years many have made their way to the coast, attracted by the long sunshine hours, the clean ozone-charged air and the opportunities for bathing in and even drinking sea-water. Although the early health resort ideal began to give way to more pleasure orientated themes in the nineteenth century, the seaside holiday was still regarded by many as a wholesome and invigorating break from inland urban life well into the twentieth century. Yet with ever increasing numbers of visitors and rising levels of coastal pollution, this was by no means a forgone conclusion. The Seaside, Health and the Environment in England and Wales since 1800 explores the ways in which English seaside resorts continually reinvented themselves to take account of contemporary trends in popular leisure and maintain their hold on the public's imagination. Particular account is paid to the interwar years when new obsessions with outdoor activities such as sunbathing and tanning were purposefully adopted by the industry to define the modern image of the resort holiday. For these and other reasons the seaside holiday reached new peaks of popularity in the 1930s and 1950s, yet, this very success placed enormous pressures on the environmental amenities that people came to enjoy. As this work shows, environmental stresses were manifold, particularly pollution of the resorts' prime assets, their beaches. As such, serious questions are raised concerning why it took such a long time for a determined effort to be made to reverse beach pollution, and the lessons to be learned regarding the impact of negative images of the coast as a zone of danger and infection.

This book is dedicated to those who have struggled for thousands of years trying to maintain their God given nature through freedom, justice and equality. Prophet Adam, Moses, Abraham, Jesus and Prophet Muhammad the last, and all the Prophets and messengers in between (may peace and blessing be upon them) If we are believers in the Prophethood we become sons and daughters within the Holy Family, those dedicated carriers of the Covenants of God under the banner of Freedom, Justice and Equality do so that we may inherit God's truth as he gave it, to protect us from lies, weak ideas and bad habits, both inside and outside of ourselves. The manipulators of our society are those human beings who take advantage of our weaknesses with structured programs. They are dummying us down getting God out the mind, to gain control over the masses. This article came to me by angelic forces. I was walking toward my back door and just as I was about to take a step up a section from the "FINAL CALL NEWSPAPER ''flew in front of me, landed upside the door. The wind holding it there, I pick it up and this is the article, satan himself; Mr. Berry Esq. Standing before the Virginia house of delegates January 20, 1832. He made it clear, how to manipulate slaves (a mass of people) he related, pass as severe laws as you will to keep these unfortunate creatures in ignorance (no God in the pledge, no moment of silence in schools, keep the ten commandments out of sight, Jesus is god etc.) it is vain, unless you can extinguish that spark of intellect which God has given them.. Sir We have as far as possible, closed every avenue by which light (knowledge and understanding) might enter their minds. We have only to go one step further, to extinguish the capacity to see the light (of God's word) and our work will be completed. They would then be reduced to the level of the beast in the fields ( a menace to themselves and society) and if they continue along that line, black people (or the masses) will be in a condition that they could never come out of (that's what they think Yes we can With God's help).
