The proceedings shed light on selected topics including economic
management, public administration, and green development. Featuring
scholarly works from the 4th International Conference on Economic
Management and Green Development (ICEMGD 2021), this volume of
proceedings showcases the papers composed with regard to a diverse
range of topics situated at the intersecting field of Economic
Management, Public Administration and Green Development. Arising as
the top concern of the global community, issues of green
development impose challenges for the academia to bridge the
interdisciplinary prowess in tackling the gap of knowledge within
concerned fields. ICEMGD 2021 is an annual conference initiated by
the year of 2017 under the goal of bringing together intellectuals
from economics, business management, public administration, and
otherwise related spheres for the share of research methods and
theoretical breakthroughs. The aim of the proceeding volume is for
the integration of social scientific research methods with research
into alarming development issues. The ICEMGD 2021 seeks to promote
joint initiatives among well-established fields like macro- and
microeconomics, international economics, finance, agricultural
economics, health economics, business management and marketing
strategies, regional development studies, social governance, and
sustainable development. Featuring interdisciplinary contributions,
this book will be of interest to researchers, academics,
professionals and policy makers in the field of economic
management, public administration, and development studies.
This book examines the role of the UN in conflict resolution in
Africa in the 1960s and its relation to the Cold War.
Focussing on the Congo, this book shows how the preservation of
the existing economic and social order in the Congo was a key
element in the decolonisation process and the fighting of the Cold
War. It links the international aspects of British, Belgian,
Angolan and Central African Federation involvement with the roles
of the US and UN in order to understand how supplies to and profits
from the Congo were producing growing African problems. This large
Central African country played a vital, if not fully understood
role, in the Cold War and proved to be a fascinating example of
complex African problems of decolonisation interacting with
international forces, in ways that revealed a great deal about the
problems inherent in colonialism and its end.
This book will be of much interest to students of US foreign
policy, the UN, Cold War history and international history in
general.

John Kent has written the first full scholarly study of British and
French policy in their West African colonies during the Second
World War and its aftermath. His detailed analysis shows how the
broader requirements of Anglo-French relations in Europe and the
wider world shaped the formulation and execution of the two
colonial powers' policy in Black Africa. He examines the guiding
principles of the policy-makers in London and Paris and the
problems experienced by the colonial administrators themselves.
This is a genuinely comparative study, thoroughly grounded in both
French and British archives, and it sheds new light on the
development of Anglo-French co-operation in colonial matters in
this period.
A critical contribution to the history of Britain and the U.S., this book demonstrates how the search for personal supernatural power lay at the heart of the so-called eighteenth-century English evangelical revival. John Kent rejects the view that the Wesleys rescued the British from moral and spiritual decay by reviving primitive Christianity. The study is of interest to everyone concerned with the history of Methodism and the Church of England, the Evangelical tradition, and eighteenth-century religious thought and experience.
William Temple (1881 1944) was the outstanding British religious
leader of the twentieth century. He believed that the 'modern
state' was incomplete without a modern Christian church, which
should set the moral and political tone of the community. His
political and religious best seller, Christianity and Social Order,
which was published as a Penguin Special in 1942, was one of the
sources of the wide support for the British welfare state of the
1950s. Temple was the most successful and controversial of British
'priests in politics' because as an Archbishop he combined the idea
of national unity rooted in a common set of religious/moral values
with a constant demand for political change in the direction of
greater social equality. He thus combined conservative and radical
impulses to a remarkable degree. This is a study of Temple's public
life and policy in Britain, and of his part in the movement to
unite the world's Protestant churches.
