Mental health practitioners must be prepared to treat
addiction-related issues-affecting up to 50% of mental health
clients-whether or not clients present with addiction as a primary
concern. This practical roadmap to the treatment of addictions
advocates an underutilized-yet highly effective-method of
intervention: eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
therapy. It is the first book to integrate the Stages of Change
Model with EMDR's phases for successful treatment outcome. The book
addresses the scope of problems relating to addiction, including
relevant statistics and descriptions of substance and process
addictions, and considers the connection between addiction and
trauma. While focusing on the use of EMDR therapy in treating
addictions, the book also considers traditional models for each
stage of treatment so interventions can be individualized according
to the needs of each client.
The authors describe in detail the Transtheoretical Model,
tracing its development and theoretical foundations. They discuss
each of its stages in depth, presenting and integrating EMDR
interventions used by therapists in each stage. The interventions
are useful for helping clients at any motivational level. Case
vignettes in each chapter illustrate how EMDR techniques are used,
and several detailed cases are provided at the end of the book. The
appendix features additional resources and EMDR protocols. The text
will be useful for therapists currently using EMDR for addiction
treatment as well as those using other modalities who are seeking
an effective alternative. Key Features:
Provides a practical roadmap to using the Stages of Change
Model and EMDR therapy for effectively treating addictions
Addresses substance and process addictions in depth Focuses on the
trauma-addiction connection and treatment options Describes each
Stage of Change and EMDR protocols and interventions for each stage
Includes case vignettes and detailed case examples
Modern engineering systems are complex and multi-faceted, and must
be flexible, adaptable, and fully integrated with the supply chain
and other stakeholders to deliver an effective level of
performance. Therefore, this book aims to create an operational
view and new understanding of modern system design, commissioning,
operation, services and support. It includes system of systems
modelling and analysis techniques essential to develop whole of
system in view of essential requirements. This book will address
professional engineers/operations managers required to design,
develop, implement and operate a complex socio-technical system
containing many engineering systems. Key Features * Develops a
holistic view of system of systems from all possible fields of
interest * Introduces the idea of system configurability to
understand system of systems in parallel with the typical,
classical concepts of engineering systems design * Offers effective
coverage of both the engineering aspects and operational aspects of
systems of systems * Focuses on pragmatic viewpoints on how to
analyze system of systems * Provides practical tools and methods
for the readers to develop competence to configure and operate
system of systems
John M. O'Shea explores this question by employing modern
archaeological theory and analysis as well as mortuary theory to
build a model of an Early Bronze Age society in the eastern
Carpathian Basin. He focuses on the Maros communities and utilizes
the densely encoded social information from their cemeteries to
draw a picture of the Maros' social systems.

Demystifying Numerical Models: Step-by Step Modeling of Engineering
Systems is the perfect guide on the analytic concepts of
engineering components and systems. In simplified terms, the book
focuses on engineering characteristics and behaviors using
numerical methods. Readers will learn how the computational aspects
of engineering analysis can be applied to develop various
engineering systems to a level that is fit for implementation.
This book contains a collection of poems written by the author
over a protracted period. They reflect the authors interests at
various times in his life. They sometimes reflect his opinion on
political or other matters current at the time of writing. They
have particular reference to matters relevant to Australian
readers.
They reflect not the life's work but a long time hobby of the
author.

Trasformational strides have been witnessed by the people of Lagos
State which are showcased in this book. Dr Ekundayo, John, did his
PhD, on the Governor's leadership style conducting both
quantitative and qualitative research studies spanning three years.
The outcome is the production of this book.

Do you need help and desperately too? This book in your hand can
take your destiny beyond what you could ever imagine After reading
this book, your testimony will be like King Asa of old: "LORD, it
is nothing for You to help" (2 Chronicles 14: 11). You will not
only enjoy the reading, as it was written plainly and simply, and
filled with real life situations, which with the touch of HIS
HELPING HANDS from above turned to testimonies of triumphs. You
will also get inspired to look up to God for your own situation to
change; as the Bible says: "they look to Him and were radiant, and
their faces were not ashamed" (Psalm 34: 5). It is your time and
turn to receive help Pastor John Moyo Ope Ekundayo was born in

The progressive globalization of business and the growing
importance of China as an economic and political power make an
understanding of the workings of Chinese law increasingly necessary
for business people, lawyers, politicians and scholars. A
multiplicity of laws and regulations passed every year by
governments at various levels make the study of Chinese law an
increasingly complex task. The editors and contributors of this
book have endeavoured to present Chinese law wherever possible from
an angle accessible to those with a common law background, whilst
necessarily retaining the use of Chinese legal terminology. This
book encompasses all of the most important aspects of Chinese law,
and has a strong practical and case law emphasis and is edited by
eminent academics at the City University of Hong Kong.
