Since the end of World War II, Americans realized that the only way
to keep America out of war is to keep the world out of war.
Americans also realize that today their country is the leader of
the Western World if not the whole world... The leadership role was
thrust upon the United States when its traditional allies are weak.
Thus, all decisions made by the United States must also be
implemented by the United States. A Chinese general said, "Ultimate
excellence lies not in winning every battle but defeating the enemy
without ever fighting." This should be America's goal, but it seems
that this can only be achieved with a large standing army. However,
there is an alternative. This goal can be achieved with a strong,
disciplined reserve force which will cost only a fraction of a
large standing army. The reserve force should be trained to
implement skillful and innovative tactics. Excellent training will
also accomplish another significant goal: minimize American
casualties.
The People's Bible Commentary series presents scholarly insights in
straightforward terms, aiming to instruct the head but also to warm
the heart, and pointing to how the truths received can be applied
personally. A special boxed set edition brings together five
best-loved titles in the series to mark BRF's centenary. Matthew's
gospel is clear, organised and practical, giving prominence to
Jesus' teaching about lifestyle and relationships. Mark's gospel is
the shortest of the four first-century books which share the story
of Jesus of Nazareth, and the most vividly told. Luke's gospel
stresses how acceptance of Jesus' message means a complete reversal
of worldly standards of success. John's gospel is a sublime
masterpiece that has fascinated theologians and mystics for
centuries. Acts is the story of the birth of the church and the
beginnings of its journey around the world.
Books in the Westminster Bible Companion series assist leaders and
students in their study of the Bible as a guide to Christian faith
and practice. Each volume presents the text under discussion,
explains the biblical book in its original historical context, and
explores the text's significance for faithful living today. These
books are ideal resources for preparing text-based sermons and a
worthy addition to seminary courses and advanced Bible study
groups. In this volume, John Proctor provides an accessible study
on First and Second Corinthians. Paul's first letter to the
Corinthians addresses the basic components of human life, such as
leadership, marriage, hospitality, and bereavement. The second
letter mostly revolves around the pains and joys of a pastoral
relationship. Proctor's volume provides insightful commentary that
examines how the letters spoke to the people of Corinth and how
they are received today.

Meet me at the fifty has been truly a labor of love. It combines
two of my favorite passions, our Lord Jesus Christ and football. It
all starts with preparation, whether in sports or our walk with
Jesus. The goal in any sport is to become better as you go along. I
don't see much difference in our walk with God. Perfect practice
truly does make perfect and learning from mistakes helps us become
greater as a disciple of God or a better player on the field or
court. I know that God can coach us in his own unique way, through
love and compassion. No coach wants to see his players fail, just
as I know God doesn't want that for us. Meet me at the fifty has
