Natural Resources Handbook discusses all categories of natural
resources with emphasis on the conservation of these resources. The
increase in population and the health of the resources are given
consideration. Emphasis is also placed on nonrenewable resources
and the implications of their decrease. Ecological and
environmental problems are also given priority. A major theme in
the handbook is the relationship of humans to other forms of life.
The concluding chapter is a philosophical discussion on the
relationship of humans and the welfare of the earth.
Detective Ann Morgan is sent to the hill country to investigate the
mutilation and killing of goats. A copy-cat crime occurs while she
is there, but this time it is a human, mutilated and killed. There
is also a missing woman involved. Ann believes the missing beauty,
the dead man and the mutilated goats are somehow connected. She and
her clairvoyant friend Loretta rent a cabin in the hills in order
for Ann to be closer to the scene of the crimes. They meet
moonshiners, herbalists, hunters, hill billies, ridge runners, folk
musicians as well as an assortment of other characters. The action
never stops in this adventure in the hills.
Computer crimes are impersonal and the perpetrators are seldom
apprehended. So thought young Conrad Graves as he embarked on a
career of bank transfers and identity thefts. His big mistake
occurred when he adopted the identity of a man, not only wanted b
the FBI, but by the mob whom he had double-crossed. Conrad
eventually seeks refuge in Guyana where he has established an
offshore account. He meets the two lovely daughters of his banker
and he must choose between them. Meanwhile, he has the FBI and the
mob to worry about. This is a rousing adventure with sex and
violence.
The Dead Man's Spouse is the second story in the Detective Ann
Morgan Series. One need not have read the others in order to enjoy
this episode. It is heavy with sex and intrigue. A seemingly common
accident turns out to have been murder. Who would want to harm
popular and mild mannered professor Harry Wilhelm? The paper trail
leads in many directions and another recent widow surfaces. The
similarity between the two deaths seems more than a
coincidence.-Even though Ann has committed herself to chemistry
prof John Klement, she cannot help having an attraction to
basketball coach Mark Simmons. There are many surprises in this
tale of mystery and romance.
