Konservatisme & kulturkamp deals with the conservative position during the cultural struggle in Denmark in the late 19th century. This conservative position has hitherto been largely ignored by historians who have focused on the liberal position of the debate. Dr. Jon A.P. Gissels shows how conservatism essentially defended a certain conception of liberty against the deterministic implications of moderne materialism.
