Rhyme, Free Verse, Haiku - A Collection of Poetry (Hardcover): Jonathan Ryan Lee Rhyme, Free Verse, Haiku - A Collection of Poetry (Hardcover)
Jonathan Ryan Lee
R545 Discovery Miles 5 450 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

I express many emotions through "Rhyme, Free Verse, Haiku, A Collection of Poetry. Poetry" offers me a way to investigate the feelings that run through my mind whether good or a bit on the more thoughtful side. I enjoy writing down how I feel hoping I'll be able to touch someone else and trigger similar emotions.

We all experience love some time in our lives. Most of us have a deep affection for nature. Many of us become politically active with something at some point, as we exist. All these experiences are normal. We all share these things; therefore we all can appreciate poetry written about them.

I'm an artist and I've painted with oil and watercolor. As I write a poem I try very hard to include those words that will more adequately present the best "painting" of what I'm trying to communicate to enable my reader to understand and hopefully go deeper into a line of thinking.

Sit with a cup of tea and allow yourself to drift as you read. Perhaps I'll be able to persuade you to see something differently. Perhaps you'll just close your eyes and smile. Knowing you might do that makes me feel good inside.

""This is an expansive collection of great poetry covering a wide range of topics."

Classroom Management in Teacher Education Programs (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2018): Jonathan Ryan Davis Classroom Management in Teacher Education Programs (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2018)
Jonathan Ryan Davis
R3,377 Discovery Miles 33 770 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

This book investigates the impact of integrating culturally relevant and pedagogically dynamic classroom management strategies into the curriculum of an urban secondary education pre-service methods course. The book begins by framing the problem of integrating classroom management into the lives of those learning to teach impact. It then examines multiple case studies of students from the study's control cohort who did not have classroom management coursework in their methods course. After breaking down the challenges encountered by the control students, the book offers DCMA as a framework from which teacher educators might create an integrative methods course. The book then analyzes students from the study's experimental cohort and how they benefited from such an integrative course throughout their teacher preparation and into their first year of teaching.

Among Friends - Stories from the Journey (Paperback): Jim Sichko, Jonathan Ryan Among Friends - Stories from the Journey (Paperback)
Jim Sichko, Jonathan Ryan; Foreword by John Besh; Chas Allen
R409 Discovery Miles 4 090 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

A priest’s inspiring story of bringing people together and bringing them closer to God—with some help from Dolly Parton, Martin Short, and others.   This book is my Midrash. With these words, Father Jim Sichko draws us into a life story full of laughter, tears, and service, filled with insightful lessons gained during his many travels as a clergyman and motivational speaker. Whether recounting his sobering flying experiences, the time he met the pope, or his encounter with the “Weed Man,” Father Jim instructs through powerful storytelling.   As he takes us along on his journey, from getting kicked out of seminary to hosting celebrities—including Dolly Parton, Harry Connick Jr., Martin Short, and former first lady Laura Bush—at his small Kentucky parish, Father Jim shines a light into the corners of the human heart to expose our need for God and the love He alone can give. With humor and striking honesty, Father Jim reveals what it means to worship God, have compassion for others, and live life among friends.

When a patch of black ice causes the death of a 49-year-old woman in Evanston, Illinois, three strangers are thrust into a journey of personal exploration as they cope with a clash between their existing personal turmoil and the trauma of fatality. Charity Jones is a high-powered attorney who must grapple with feeling like the "Token Black" lawyer in her criminal law firm. She hopes work will shield her from having to deal with her racial identity struggles. Marvin Cohen is a devout Jewish grandfather who begins to question his faith because of complicated family circumstances. He seeks to retain the status quo as it becomes threatened. Meanwhile, Chad Humes' divorcing parents force him to choose between them. He must decide whether he wants to stay in Portland, Oregon with his high school friends or move away from the place where he grew up. Sheridan Road is told by three alternating first person accounts that explore the complex dynamics of race, religion, family, and class. Each account begins before the accident and follows the characters through their journey beyond the accident.
