Lithium isotopes are a relatively novel tracer of present and past
silicate weathering processes. Given that silicate weathering is
the primary long-term method by which CO2 is removed from the
atmosphere, Li isotope research is going through an exciting phase.
We show the weathering processes that fractionate dissolved and
sedimentary Li isotope ratios, focusing on weathering intensity and
clay formation. We then discuss the carbonate and silicate archive
potential of past seawater 7Li. These archives have been used to
examine Li isotope changes across both short and long timescales.
The former can demonstrate the rates at which the climate is
stabilised from perturbations via weathering, a fundamental piece
of the puzzle of the long-term carbon cycle.
You can learn a lot from a tree... ... in fact, you can learn a lot
from all that is around you, if you take the time to notice. Nature
shows us life lessons every day, all we have to do is look. This
book shows children (and adults) that we can all learn these
lessons from both nature and ourselves.
CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE was established by brothers Jeremiah West, 8,
and Joshua West, 6, young entrepreneurs with the two-fold objective
of improving childhood literacy and financial literacy, teaching
their peers how to give, save, and spend their money wisely. It is
their mission to empower youth of all ages, cultures, and
backgrounds to not only create their own income in the spirit of
entrepreneurship, but to serve as "Change Agents" who look for
opportunities to make an immediate and lasting impact within their
communities. Since its inception, this movement has grown to
creating "Change Agents" all across the world, from New York City
to as far away as Malaysia Join Jeremiah and Joshua on their
