The warm, funny and entertaining memoir of much-loved TV
personality and loveable posh boy, Jamie Laing. Funny, charming,
and romantic to a fault, everyone loves Jamie Laing. The
affectionate and exuberant blonde puppy dog has come a long way -
and broken many hearts - since he first graced our screens in 2011
as the joker of the King's Road on Made in Chelsea. Ten years on,
he became king of the ballroom making the final of Strictly Come
Dancing. Now he's ready to spill the tea - and (McVitie's) biscuits
- about life, love and everything in between. From his idyllic
upbringing in the countryside to the grey walls of boarding school,
Jamie has always had a knack for getting himself into trouble. He
reveals how he won popularity at school teaching the rest of the
boys the proper way to ... [PARENTAL ADVISORY]. He hilariously
recounts blagging his way into a casino aged 17, and winning so
much money his mother thought he was a drug dealer. Jamie has been
equally lucky with ladies, but not always quite the romantic hero
he had in mind - unless sitting lovelorn outside a girlfriend's
halls begging to be taken back while fending off abuse from drunk
students calling out 'Made in Chelsea twat' counts as heroism?
Jamie also writes movingly about his struggles off camera, which
left him crippled with anxiety and led to his eventual burnout.
Throughout it all he opens up about the importance of friendship
and how his two ride-or-dies, Georgie and Spencer, have always been
there for him. They've enabled Jamie to thrive as a confectionery
king and genuinely change lives with his Private Parts podcast,
while not letting him forget that he took part in The Great
Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer despite not knowing how
to pronounce the word 'meringue'. Candid, entertaining, and almost
always ridiculous, this is the real Jamie Laing.
'Funny, beautifully observed and moving' Adam Kay 'Tales Of The
City for a new generation . . . smart, touching, razor-sharp
one-liners, a life-affirming read . . . I fell utterly in love with
it' John Marrs 'Funny, kind, insightful book, about those who get
left behind' Russell T Davies Two brothers. Two different journeys.

the psychological intricacies, and the ripples of social and family
consequences [of coming out]. But it's just as much a book about
sibling love and the value of friendship. Populated with a
likeable, diverse and witty cast of characters, it's a sure-footed
narrative about finding your feet.' The Irish Times 'With razor

Davies, creator of BBC drama Torchwood 'A savagely funny and
poignant journey' Red Magazine 'A frothy and insightful debut . . .
an all-too-recognisable tale of the horrors and joys of attempting
to find that special someone' Emerald Street 'A razor-sharp tale,
with fabulously drawn characters, crackling dialogue, real
emotional heft and a wonderfully acerbic turn of phrase. Great fun'
Sunday Mirror 'A book we can all relate to . . . Myers' original
take on modern dating is refreshing and timely' GQ 'Myers has a
wonderful style... [his] lines are sharp enough to murder.' The
Independent ***** James is 34 and fed up. His six-year relationship
with Adam has imploded, he hates his job making up celebrity
gossip, and his best friend Bella has just announced she's moving
to Russia. Adrift and single in loved-up London, James needs to
break out of his lonely, drunken comfort zone. Encouraged by Bella,
he throws himself headlong into online dating, blogging each
encounter anonymously as the mysterious Romeo. After meeting a
succession of hot/weird/gross men, James has fans and the
validation he's always craved. But when his wild night with a
closeted Olympian goes viral and sends his Twitter-fame through the
roof, James realises maybe, in the search for happy-ever-after,
some things are better left un-shared. Seriously, wherefore art
thou Romeo . . . From Justin Myers, author of sensational blog The
Guyliner, this razor-sharp and cringingly candid account of one
man's quest for The One is as sad, fearless and funny as dating
itself. ***** 'Sex and the City meets Bridget Jones's Diary in this
sharp and pacey queer rom-com gone wrong for the digital age'
Attitude 'We can't remember the last time there was this much buzz
in the literary world over a same-sex love story' Indy100 'It's
Bridget Jones meets Gossip Girl, and if you loved those, you'll
adore this' Look Magazine 'Insightful, heartfelt and witty' Laura
Jane Williams 'Myers is a natural raconteur and The Last Romeo is
replete with the sharp wit and tenderness that made The Guyliner
such a success' Sydney Morning Herald 'What would you get if you
were to combine Adrian Mole and almost any Marian Keyes novel?
Justin Myers's brilliant debut novel and its lead, James' Sunday
Times South Africa 'Extremely funny, with real heart, depth and
resonance' Daisy Buchanan 'Warm, witty, wicked and wonderful . . .
What an amazing debut' John Marrs, author of The One 'Justin's
writing is razor-sharp and so funny . . . I inhaled it in one
sitting' Francesca Hornak, author of Seven Days of Us 'Hilarious
and insightful, The Last Romeo is the perfect blend of heart, spark
and snark' Isabel Costello, Literary Sofa 'Predictably wise,
beautifully written and enormous fun' Marina O'Loughlin
In today's world, there are guides to everything and among them,
self help books on relationships and gender differences. These
books are mainly written by leading doctors and therapists, but
rarely has a book been written from an everyday man's point of view
about the dark side of women and dating. Too often books are
written about the romantic mating ritual to get a woman, but what
about once you've captured her and she turns out not to be the
reason poet's have put pen to paper. Does it matter what
environment you've met a woman in? Is marriage and its requirements
realistic in this day and age, and has it ever been? In this open,
candid, at times crude, yet humorous book a merchant mariner shares
his opinions, and experiences on the mostly dark side of women,
sex, and Relationships. Why they tend not to last in this day and
age. How by peoples attitudes, as well as perceptions changing they
actually have a better chance for peace in their private lives.
This research effort identifies attributes of distributed event
correlation which make it desirable for security event detection,
and evaluates those attributes in a comparison with a centralized
alternative. Event correlation is an effective means of detecting
complex situations encountered in information technology
environments. Centralized, database-driven log event correlation is
more commonly implemented, but suffers from flaws such as high
network bandwidth utilization, significant requirements for system
resources, and difficulty in detecting certain suspicious
behaviors. This analysis measures the value in distributed event
correlation by considering network bandwidth utilization, detection
capability and database query efficiency, as well as through the
implementation of remote configuration scripts and correlation of
multiple log sources. These capabilities produce a configuration
which allows a 99% reduction of network syslog traffic in the
low-accountability case, and a significant decrease in database
execution time through context-addition in the high-accountability
case.
