This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Information Processing in Medical Imaging, IPMI 2011, held at Kloster Irsee, Germany, in July 2011. The 24 full papers and 39 poster papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 224 submissions. Schwerpunkt des Buches ist die Darstellung von bisher eingesetzten und neuentwickelten nuklearmedizinischen Verfahren bei der Diagnostik des Mammakarzinoms und dessen Metastasen. Besondere Berucksichtigung finden die Mammaszintigraphie und Positronenemissionstomographie, wobei die neuesten wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse dieser derzeit noch nicht in der klinischen Routine verwendeten Methoden aufgezeigt werden. Alle aktuellen radiologischen Untersuchungstechniken werden umfassend mit ihren Moeglichkeiten und Grenzen abgehandelt. Der enge Bezug zu den Fragestellungen des Klinikers und eine kritische Beurteilung der jeweiligen klinischen Wertigkeit stehen dabei im Vordergrund.

Seit Ende der 80er Jahre gehen PionierlAnder des Umweltschutzes neue Wege. Hintergrund ist das Konzept der nachhaltigen Entwicklung, wie es die 1992 in Rio de Janeiro beschlossene Agenda 21 formuliert. Was tut sich in den VorreiterlAndern einer strategisch orientierten Umweltpolitik? Was sind die Chancen und VorzA1/4ge einer kooperativen Umweltplanung? Und was ergibt sich daraus fA1/4r Deutschland? Dies sind die Fragen, denen sich dieses Buch widmet. Der Stand der internationalen Entwicklung wird von namhaften Wissenschaftlern im Aoeberblick dargestellt. Die Idee, Dermatologen und Nuklearmediziner zu einem Dialog zusam- menzufiihren, basiert auf einer mehrjiihrigen fruchtbaren Kooperation zwi- schen Dermatologen und Nuklearmedizinern aus Frankfurt und Mainz. Geleitet wurden wir in unserem Vorhaben vor alIem durch 3 Ziele: 1. Die gemeinsam von uns und von anderen Zentren gewonnenen Erfah- rungen solIten einem breiten Kreis dermatologisch und nuklearmedizi- nisch tiitiger Arzte vorgestelIt und mit ihnen diskutiert werden. 2. Offene Probleme solIten bewuBt dargelegt und diskutiert werden, urn Vorziige und Grenzen nuklearmedizinischer Untersuchungen aufzu- zeigen. 3. Die Resultate dieses 1. Frankfurter Gespriiches soUten zusammengefaBt in Buchform erscheinen, urn jederzeit nachgeschlagen werden zu kon- nen. Der Band solI bereits kurzfristig nach dem Symposium zur Verfii- gung stehen. Dieses Vorgehen erscheint uns urn so mehr geboten als eine entspre- chende Bearbeitung dermatologisch-nuklearmedizinischer Themen und der Niederschlag in Form eines zusammengefaBten Beitrages in Buchform aus- steht. Namhafte Referenten konnten gewonnen werden, die urn eine praxisge- rechte Priisentation der gewiihlten Themen bemiiht waren. Im Mittelpunkt stehen jene dermatologischen Erkrankungen, bei denen nuklearmedizinische Verfahren in den letzten Jahren sichtbare Fortschritte gebracht haben, wie z. B. Psoriasis, Morbus Reiter, progressive Skleroder- mie und das maligne Melanom. Der aktuelle Stand der nuklearmedizini- schen Diagnostik solI umrissen werden, wobei auch zelIkinetische und met- abolische Untersuchungsverfahren zur Sprache kommen werden. Funktio- nell-nuklearmedizinische Untersuchungsergebnisse bei dermatologisch bedeutsamen Miterkrankungen des Gastrointestinalsystems werden ebenso beriicksichtigt wie die Fortschritte nuklearmedizinischer und radiologischer Verfahren auf dem Gebiet der angiologischen Probleme des Hautarztes.
