This book constitutes revised and selected papers from the
Sixteenth International Conference on Information Processing,
ICInPro 2021, held in Bangaluru, India in October 2021. The 33 full
and 9 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed
and selected from a total of 177 submissions. The papers are
organized in the following thematic blocks: Computing & Network
Security; Data Science; Intelligence & IoT.
This book provides a systematic introduction to the fundamental
concepts, major challenges, and effective solutions for Quality of
Service in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Unlike other books on
the topic, it focuses on the networking aspects of WSNs, discussing
the most important networking issues, including network
architecture design, medium access control, routing and data
dissemination, node clustering, node localization, query
processing, data aggregation, transport and quality of service,
time synchronization, and network security. Featuring contributions
from researchers, this book strikes a balance between fundamental
concepts and new technologies, providing readers with unprecedented
insights into WSNs from a networking perspective. It is essential
reading for a broad audience, including academics, research
engineers, and practitioners, particularly
postgraduate/postdoctoral researchers and engineers in industry. It
is also suitable as a textbook or supplementary reading for
graduate computer engineering and computer science courses.

The authors have consolidated their research work in this volume
titled Soft Computing for Data Mining Applications. The monograph
gives an insight into the research in the ?elds of Data Mining in
combination with Soft Computing methodologies. In these days, the
data continues to grow - ponentially. Much of the data is
implicitly or explicitly imprecise. Database discovery seeks to
discover noteworthy, unrecognized associations between the data
items in the existing database. The potential of discovery comes
from the realization that alternate contexts may reveal additional
valuable information. The rate at which the data is storedis
growing at a phenomenal rate. Asaresult,

managementtools are no longer adequate for analyzing this vast
collection of data.

Professor K Venkatagiri Gowda was an incisive thinker par
excellence. His economic analyses of the budget were very much
valued by the economists and administrator in India. His work has
been internationally recognized as crucial and ground-breaking in
the field of monetary economics, international finance and
planning. He has received the Lord Leverhulme special Research
Award, London School of Economics, 1935-55, and the Karnataka
Rajotsava Award in 1983. The book is collection of 83 articles
written by Professor Gowda which provide solutions to myriad of
economic problems of India.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th
International Conference on Information Processing, ICIP 2011, held
in Bangalore, India, in August 2011. The 86 revised full papers
presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 514
submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on data
mining; Web mining; artificial intelligence; soft computing;
software engineering; computer communication networks; wireless
networks; distributed systems and storage networks; signal
processing; image processing and pattern recognition.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th
International Conference on Information Processing, ICIP 2012, held
in Bangalore, India, in August 2012. The 75 revised full papers
presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 380
submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on
wireless networks; image processing; pattern recognition and
classification; computer architecture and distributed computing;
software engineering, information technology and optimization
techniques; data mining techniques; computer networks and network
security.
The first generation networks built before the emergence of fiber
optics and the second generation networks which used fiber as a
replacement for copper links in Local Area network (LAN),
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) are not
adequate to meet the emerging integrated demands of the
communication applications. Huge bandwidth must be provided to
support applications such as super-computer interconnect,
videoconferencing, etc., co-existing with smaller bandwidth
requirements of data, audio, and many other applications for
thousands of end-users. Wavelength Converters in Optical Networks
deals with the third generation networks that use Wavelength
Division Multiplexing (WDM), wavelength routed optical networking
technology. This technology can efficiently utilize the enormous
bandwidth of the optical fiber and has been able to meet the
emerging integrated demands of the communication applications Key
Features WDMA network architecture models have been presented The
literature is supported and explained through diagrams and tables
wherever required for the benefit of the students Simulation
studies in the 12-node ring network, 28-node USA long hand network,
14-node NSFNET, 19-node European Optical Network (EON), 30-node
INET network and 52-node arbitrary mesh network have been
presented. Motivation for the present work and the organization of
thesis has been outlined. Research activity in network topology
recon figuration, issues in fault tolerances, and the objectives of
various test beds in progress have been presented Last chapter
presents the summary and contribution of the world
The present treatise spread in 67 contributions from the experts
deals with the following topics: Information Processing and Pattern
Recognition Computer Communication Networks Hardware and
Optimization Data Mining Software Engineering Distributed Systems
Biomedical Informatics Soft Computing
The proceedings feature several key-note papers in the areas of
advanced information processing tools. This area has been
recognized to be one of the five key technologies poised to shape
modern society in the next decade. It aptly focuses on the tools
and techniques for the development of Information Systems. Emphasis
is placed on pattern recognition and image processing, software
engineering, mobile ad hoc networks, security aspects in computer
networks, signal processing and hardware synthesis, optimization
techniques, data mining, and information processing.
The book is a collection of Memoranda of Professor K Venkatagiri
Gowda mostly addressed to the Former Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. P
V Narasimha Rao and the present Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri.
Manmohan Singh, during 1991-96.
