This book constitutes the proceedings of the Third Workshop on Video Analytics for Audience Measurement, VAAM 2016, and the Second International Workshop on Face and Facial Expression Recognition from Real World Videos, FFER 2016, held at the 23rd International Conference on Pattern Recognition, ICPR 2016, in Cancun, Mexico, in December 2016. The 11 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions and cover topics such as Face Recognition, Face Alignment, Facial Expression Recognition and Facial Images.

Cameras capturing video sequences are nowadays used in almost any places like airports, train stations, banks and even in shops. These cameras are usually mounted with wide fields of views in order to cover as much of the scene as possible. Therefore, there are large distances between the cameras and the objects. The immediate consequence is that the objects of interest in such videos are usually very small. One of the most important objects in such video sequences is the human face. This book is devoted to the tasks of finding facial images in videos coming from surveillance cameras, logging them and producing a high-resolution face image from the logged ones.
