Fundamentals of Renewable Energy Systems goes beyond theoretical
aspects of advances in renewable energy and addresses future
trends. By focusing on the design of developing technologies,
relevant operation and detailed background and an understanding of
the application of power electronics and thermodynamics processes
in renewable energy, this book provides an analysis of advancing
energy systems. The book will be of interest to engineering
graduates, researchers, professors and industry professionals
involved in the renewable energy sector and is ideal for advanced
engineering courses dealing with renewable energy, sources, thermal
and electrical energy production and sustainability. With
increasing focus on developing low carbon energy production,
audiences need to have the engineering knowledge and practical
skills to develop and implement creative solutions to engineering
problems encountered with renewable energy technologies. By looking
at renewable energy capture and conversion, system design and
analysis, project development and implementation, each modular
chapter examines recent advances in specific renewable energy
systems with detailed methods, calculations and worked examples.
The process of building an understanding of the existing system is
time consuming and takes around 40% of the allocated time for a
maintenance task. Numerous efforts have been made to reduce the
time consumed in the program comprehension process by providing
support to the programmer during this phase. Full automation of the
process of developing an understanding of the program is not
possible since it involves human learning activity. Therefore, it
has been suggested that the specialized tools should help the
programmer discover the software amicably. The segments of the
program that can be attractive from the comprehension viewpoint
must be brought into the notice of the programmer by the
exploration tools. In our case the program discovery tool should
pinpoint the key classes of the object-oriented system that are
fundamental to its design.
Efficient fault detection of distribution transformers has great
worth when installation of distribution transformers in the field
is taken into account. Computer software has been developed which
makes it possible to detect the region of fault location and
evaluate the strength of insulation puncturing. It is capable of
locating the position of fault along with total percentage of
insulation breakdown region. Different evaluation tests are
performed which are capable to recognize not only visible faults
but also those faults in the windings of distribution transformers
which cannot be captured. Such kinds of faults in transformers
generally pass the impulse test but when they are installed in the
field they are subjected to cause the insulation failure of
windings. The evaluation techniques remarkably cop up with such
kind of insulation breakdowns and present a good quality approach
of evaluation for undesired dominant frequencies. With the help of
this research a new method of impulse testing can be introduced.
The scope of this research is to facilitate the transformer
designers and manufacturers to improve their designing techniques
of insulations which is not yet introduced.
LSCIC pre coder is designed keeping in view the problems or
variations in system's bandwidth. The emphasis of this research is
to design and implement a customized chip which may handle worst
and best band width situations at the same time with approximately
no difference in reconstructed image quality. It is concluded the
designed circuit is made adaptive to variable bandwidth conditions.
VHDL coding and synthesis of this Chip is carried out in this
research alongwith the introduction to fast RAM unit which contains
image data temporarily. Conclusions and results of this research
shows maximum PSNR and minimum MSR (Mean square error)to justify
the best image reconstruction methodology.
The major part of this book examines the impact of Khushhali Bank
Limited (KBL), the largest microfinance bank with a huge network of
branches all across the country, on the socio-economic
characteristics of beneficiary women and to study the improvement
in their economy and social status. The findings suggest that
micro-credit has positive impact on women socio-economic status and
empowerment. It increases to some extent self- confidence and
feelings of identity for women in the society. The study also
entailed lack of centralized system between the microfinance
institutions that increased the risk of dual loaning.
