When thinking about this book, I wanted to maintain my focus on
writing that inspires and uplifts others. My approach to this book
is slightly different, as I sought the insight and suggestions from
some of my readers. They presented me with a topic, a thought or an
idea and I built around it. In addition to that, I am presenting
this book with a built-in blog as well. BOOK 'n' BLOG is literally
a term that just came to me one evening. While reviewing this
project, I knew that I wanted to take a creative, innovative
approach to style. I also realized that very rarely does a reader
have the opportunity to know the author's perspective. My goal for
this book is to provide you, the reader, with my thoughts and
perspectives of each poem to follow. You will be able to journey
with me as each poem blossoms into existence.
Stepping Stones, a collection of poetry, will take you on an
emotional journey all the way from Baby Steps to Leaving this
Temporary Home. It challenges faith and the belief that all things
work together for a greater good. Through successes and challenges
alike, you are placed in the middle and taken along for the ride.
The pages to follow describe my personal journey with Systemic
Lupus and how it has forever changed my life. Good and bad alike, I
invite you to join me through the adventures, triumph and tragedy
of the past three years. May we learn and grow together.
