Delve into the complex history of Herod the Great—his rise to power and
ultimate fall in pursuit to be the "King of the Jews." Under a
flourishing yet tumultuous background of Jerusalem, consider Mary of
Nazareth's place under Herod's rule and the promise of a Messiah to
free her people. Kathie Lee Gifford with Bryan M. Litfin, Ph.D. deftly
weave a truthful historical narrative full of accurate details and
sweeping prose that ushers in the true King and glorifies God's
powerful plan to bring a savior into the world through unlikely means.
A coda between the authors, full of honest revelation and insightful
meaning, follows each chapter for added in-depth reading.
The first installment in the Ancient Evil, Living Hope series, Herod
and Mary begins with the tragic life of King Herod—Christianity's first
true persecutor. As an impressionable boy, he is forever marked by the
raw power of Rome. Throughout the course of Herod's career, he gains
power, fame, and riches beyond belief. Yet murderous intrigues stalk
this man—and infect his own dark soul.
Under the rule of King Herod, Jerusalem becomes a prominent city of
wealth and prosperity, but Mary saw the struggle of her people under a
tyrant. Like all Jewish women, she knew the promises of Torah and
longed for a deliverer. But no one could have prepared her for what the
angel of God revealed: that the Messiah wouldn't arrive with the
blaring of trumpets, the clash of arms, or the fanfare of a mighty
host. He would arrive as an infant within her own womb. The light of
the world was born in a cave: not a king who maims and destroys, but
the gentle King of the Jews.
This riveting narrative nonfiction work reveals deep insight to how
Herod came to power, how corruption and an ancient evil threatened the
stability of a nation, and how a teenage Mary was called to traverse
these obstacles to bring the Savior, Jesus, our living hope, into the
world.
God sees you in every situation in life. In the Bible, we read that
Hagar gave God the name El Roi, “the God who sees,” when she
recognized that the Lord had seen her in her plight. In our lives,
we often wonder if God sees us when trials feel endless, or
problems resurface, or once-defeated illnesses return again to
impact us. These moments make us question if God sees us and if he
truly cares. In this six-session video Bible study, Kathie Lee
Gifford and Joanne Moody delve into the lives of five people in the
Bible who, like us, wondered if God saw them in their distress.
Through the stories of Hagar, Ruth, Boaz, David, and Mary of
Magdala, you will discover that even in the darkest times, God
constantly watches over you. He has promised to never abandon you,
and he empowers you to fulfill the purpose that he has for your
life. Each session includes clips from The Way oratorios, featuring

Kathie Lee Gifford reveals heartwarming, entertaining conversations
between people and personalities who both agree and disagree about
who Jesus is, his role throughout history, and his presence in our
lives today. For decades Kathie Lee has had deep conversations
about her faith with anyone who is interested in talking about it.
What she discovered early on is most people are very willing to
talk about Jesus: atheists, agnostics, Scientologists, Jews,
broken-hearted Catholics, confused Baptists, Pentecostals, Sikhs,
Buddhists, and Hindus alike. While some of the people Kathie Lee
has spoken with do not share her belief that Jesus is the
Messiah-as prophesied for centuries by prophets in the Hebrew
scriptures-they nonetheless have a universal fascination with Him.
This singular man who lived more than two thousand years ago, and
never traveled more than one hundred miles from where He was born,
managed to change the entire world. Even the way we delineate
history (BC/AD) comes from His short thirty-three years of life. In
The Jesus I Know, Kathie Lee shares cherished conversations that
she's had with others who find Jesus to be an ancient historical
figure who somehow continues to be an undeniably magnetic, relevant
presence in the modern world. Those conversations include actors
like Kristin Chenoweth and Cynthia Garrett, with stories of Craig
Ferguson and Kevin Costner, newsmakers and news personalities like
Kris Jenner, Megyn Kelly, Jason Kennedy, and Janice Dean,
performers like Chynna Phillips Baldwin, Brian Welch, Jimmie Allen,
and Jimmy Wayne, hitmakers like Louis York and David Pomeranz, as
well as those coming from other faith traditions. Using Kathie
Lee's favorite Scripture passages as scaffolding, these
thought-provoking exchanges will bring His teachings to life before
your very eyes.

“They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. When
Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure
spirit came from the tombs to meet him” (Mark
5:1–2). In Jesus’ day, a great divide existed between
the Jews and the Gentiles. The Jews considered themselves to be on
one side—on God’s side—and the Gentiles to be on the other.
But time and again in Scripture, we find Yeshua Jesus traveling to
the “other side” to meet with broken, lost, and desperate souls
who needed God’s grace. He crossed to other side when Peter, the
disciple who promised to never forsake Him, did just that on the
night that He was arrested. He literally crossed to the other side
of the Sea of Galilee to find a man in the region of the Gerasenes,
casting out a legion of demons from him and into a horde of pigs.
Jesus went out of His way to meet with a woman from Samaria and
told a parable of a Prodigal Son to demonstrate that no one is ever
too far from God. Jesus then encouraged His faithful followers to
take up the call to journey to the other side—as evidenced by
Peter’s willingness to meet with a Gentile named Cornelius and
even stay in his home. In this six-session video Bible study,
bestselling author Kathie Lee Gifford explores the stories of these
important figures in Scripture who were willing to take the gospel
to “the other side” so that all might learn of God’s plan of
salvation. Participants will discover that they are never too far
gone or too far out of reach for God to find them, minister to
them, and heal them. They will also be encouraged to follow the
example of Yeshua Jesus and meet with those who are
hurting . . . right where they are. This study

What does it mean to pursue an intimate relationship with God?
intimacy, obedience, and the miraculous as a blueprint for all
believers. Combining sound biblical teaching with keen insight and
compelling personal accounts from others, Dr. Clark invites us to
go deeper by exploring the following questions: How do we achieve
true intimacy in our relationship with God? What does it mean to
express faith that results in the miraculous? What does the Bible
say about the balance between obedience and grace? A clear
understanding of the integral relationship between intimacy and
obedience provides a framework in today's world for glorifying God,
particularly through the miraculous, as Dr. Clark has so profoundly
demonstrated during his many years of ministry. He longs for you to
renew your knowledge of God's deep love for His children and how
fervently God desires a life of intimate friendship with you.
God’s love for you is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If
you want to know about God, all you have to do is open the pages of
his Word. The Bible reveals that God is a creator and lover of
justice. He is all-powerful and merciful. He is wise and shines the
light of his truth to guide you. He is a God of all people, for he
sent his only Son into the world, so that “whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). In this
six-session video Bible study, bestselling authors Kathie Lee
Gifford and Rabbi Jason Sobel explore some of the names for God
used in Scripture and reveal what they say about his nature and
character. You will discover—as so many of the men and women in
Scripture discovered before you—that God’s love, mercy, and
care for his creation never changes. The God of his Word always
keeps his Word . . . and he promises to always
care for you. Each session includes clips from The Way oratorios,
