"Suddenly, something moved in the under-growth. Raoul was terrified and he stood transfixed to the spot. The gory stories he had heard of huge wild animals tearing and ripping people apart came back to haunt him. He had nothing whatsoever to defend himself with, besides he was too weak. "So this was how he would die?..". " Raoul is on a journey in the desert wilderness. The journey is looking more difficult and impossible to survive by the day. This was not what he had anticipated. He had looked forward to a fun-filled adventure, but now it was beginning to look like he might not survive this after all. Will Raoul make it through? How would he? How could he?
He sat in a little corner all by himself, nursing his non-alcoholic white wine just watching the party. He was waiting for the right moment so he could slip away without being noticed. He was almost yawning. He lifted up his head from his drink to survey the place again and ...whoosh He found himself staring into the most enthralling pair of eyes he had ever seen in his entire life. His world stood rock still in that instant. His breath just caught in his throat and he couldn't breathe. He suddenly got all light headed and giddy. "It must be the wine, it must be the wine," he thought wildly to himself, forgetting completely the wine was alcohol free. "Beautiful eyes" moved towards him and Oh No He was sure he would pass out. Adrenaline flooded through him and he jumped to his feet. Crash The glass he had been holding fell to the marble floor and shattered into pieces. "This was not happening, Damien Dapo David? Cool, calm, collected and composed D.D.D? Unbelievable Preposterous " A waiter rushed up to him with cleaning equipment and started to apologize profusely like he was responsible for the mess. Damien, glad that that was taken care of, turned to see the object of his turmoil. "Oh so sorry " The words rolled out from her lips like silk on velvet. "I honestly thought you were someone else. Forgive me." With that, she turned right back and walked elegantly away from Damien. Damien felt like his whole world had just fallen apart. He felt he would just slump and die. She had just walked away from him. Walk away from him Never He had to do something. He had to get her back. She had to know she had just made a mistake. He was the one she was looking for, not someone else.
