Vortex Ice / Cortex Fire is one of three main range 2017 Doctor Who
titles consisting of two two-part stories, in a change from the
usual four-parters. Vortex Ice by Jonathan Morris. In search of
'exotic particles', the Doctor and Flip arrive 700 feet
underground, in a mine in Northern Mexico - only to run into a
scientific expedition. Among their number, an exobiologist. They're
all on the hunt for alien life! Deep underground, the team finally
uncovers a cave of vast crystals - like ice, despite the heat. And
inside the crystal: something frozen. Something trapped in time. If
only it were something simple, like a monster. But it's far, far
worse than that. Cortex Fire by Ian Potter. The Doctor brings Flip
to the futuristic city of Festin, the best vantage point to witness
a unique astronomical light show. In a city governed by the
all-powerful network known as the Cortex, they're soon identified
as outsiders - nihilists, perhaps, responsible for a wave of terror
that's been sweeping the city...But the truth is different. The
people of Festin are burning up. Spontaneously combusting. And
no-one knows why. Star Colin Baker played the Doctor on television
between 1984 and 1986, and has found a new legion of fans through
his work with Big Finish. Lisa Greenwood plays companion Phillipa
"Flip" Jackson, and will be familiar to some from TV shows such as

Doctor), Lisa Greenwood (Flip Jackson), Shobu Kapoor (Sai Chopra),
Orlando Seale (Dylan Argent), Monty D'Inverno (Jannik Woolf),

In 2014, Big Finish started a new range of Doctor Who stories,
bringing back original cast members from the 1960s eras in order to
tell new stories: they're audio tales in black and white! The
TARDIS materialises on board a still and eerie spaceship. When a
squad of soldiers land, they realise they've found themselves in
the middle of a war zone. With one of their crew trapped by the
enemy, the Doctor and his friends find themselves locked in a
desperate race for survival. Vast warships manoeuvre around each
other as both sides try to out-think their opponents, flying into
ever more dangerous areas of space. The stakes could not be higher.
But as ever in war, the lines between good and evil are hard to
define. Will anyone survive to claim the moral high ground? This
range of era-authentic new stories has been hugely popular with
fans, with a further two series already commissioned! Carole Ann
Ford and William Russell return to play characters from the very
first Doctor Who story in 1963 - the Doctor's companions Susan and
Ian.Actor Jemma Powell is familiar to Doctor Who fans for her role
as Jacqueline Hill in 2013's drama-mentary about the origins of
Doctor Who - An Adventure in Space and Time. Jacqueline Hill played
the original companion Barbara, a role Jemma now takes on. CAST:

Jemma Powell (Barbara), Rachel Atkins (Myla), John Voce (Toban),

During the events of Doctor Who: Ravenous 2, Liv Chenka left the
Doctor and the TARDIS behind. Just for one year. A year during
which she would live on Kaldor, and get to know her sister Tula all
over again. But Kaldor is going through a period of tumultuous
change. Technology is changing at an advanced rate – the robots
are evolving, artificial intelligence is adapting, and with these
changes so politics is altering too. Dangerously. Can Liv and Tula
make a difference during the most turbulent time in the world’s
history? Contains three new adventures: 6.1 Force of Nature by
Helen Goldwyn. A month after Tula’s enhancement chip was
compromised, she and Liv join a compulsory ‘Recovery Training
Course’ to help rehabilitate those infected. But they soon become
embroiled in the tensions between the course participants and a
very human-like SuperVoc - seemingly with its own agenda... 6.2
Face to Face by John Dorney. When Tula wakes to find some strangely
familiar faces in her living room, a battle of wills breaks out.
Not everyone can leave... but will they let the right one out? 6.3
The Final Hour by Matt Fitton. Liv Chenka’s time on Kaldor is
almost at an end. The Company seems more powerful than ever.
There’s unrest on the streets, the people are scared. And Tula is
in trouble with her boss... But there are those who stand against
the Company. Those with a new vision of the future for Kaldor and
its Robots. An intricate plan is in motion - the Chenka sisters are

In the far future and the recent past, the Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan
discover that humans can be monsters too. Contains two new
adventures; 1. Friendly Fire by John Dorney (3 parts). When the
TARDIS needs to reset itself, the Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan find
themselves having to fill time on a space-hub filled with numerous
attractions. This pleases Tegan and Nyssa no end... but the Doctor
is more interested in visiting an alien friend of his living on a
nearby mining planet and is able to persuade his friends to join
him. But on arrival his friend is nowhere to be found and the
locals are more than slightly unwelcoming. With limited options for
departure and a hostile populace they may be in a lot of trouble.
Sometimes true monsters are found in the strangest places. 2. The
Edge of the War by Jonathan Barnes (3 parts). France in the summer
of 1936. The village of Villy is in a state of contentment, tinged
only slightly with unease. A kilometre away, construction is
underway on a large underground fortification, part of the Maginot
Line project which has seen the building of a series of defences
against future invasion. A young artist has arrived in the village
to paint the landscape. Her name is Nyssa and she has taken a room

phenomena and unearthly powers. But a trio of investigators stands
ready to delve into such mysteries - the Great Detective, Madame
Vastra; her resourceful spouse, Jenny Flint; and their loyal valet,
Strax. If an impossible puzzle needs solving, or a grave injustice
needs righting, help can be found on Paternoster Row. But even
heroes can never escape their past...Contains three new adventures
- 1.Dining with Death by Dan Starkey. When negotiations between two
warring alien races are sabotaged, Madame Vastra offers Paternoster
Row as neutral ground upon which to continue their diplomacy –
and the celebrate the treaty with a feast. While Strax frets about
hosting two species with very different dietary needs, Jenny
investigates the dissenters who want to halt the peace process. But
a deadly plot is brewing, and the diners way not survive the cheese
course...2.The Screaming Ceiling by Guy Adams. In one of the
earliest cases of his illustrious career, Thomas Carnacki heads to
the Highlands to embark upon the terrifying investigation of Castle
Kraighten. On arrival, he finds that another party of sleuths has
been engaged – surely these amateurs of Paternoster Row have
nothing to teach the great Ghost Finder? But this is no ordinary
haunting. A room in the castle has a mouth in the ceiling. And it
screams...3. Spring-Heeled Jack by Gemma Arrowsmith. People are
being stolen from the streets by a monster. By all accounts, it has
burning eyes, breathes blue flames, and can leap the height of a
