ePUB and EPDF available Open Access under CC-BY-NC-ND licence. This book examines how and why experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Britain varied according to ethnicity. Drawing from the Evidence for Equality National Survey (EVENS), the book compares the experiences of ethnic and religious minority groups and White British people in work and finances, housing and communities, health and wellbeing, policing and politics, and racism and discrimination in Britain. Using unrivalled data in terms of population and topic coverage and complete with bespoke graphics, contributors present new evidence of ethnic inequalities and racism, opening them up to debate as crucial social concerns. Written by leading international experts in the field, this is a must-read for anyone interested in contemporary ethnic inequalities and racism, from academics and policymakers to voluntary and community sector organisations.
Ken Clarke needs no introduction. One of the genuine 'Big Beasts' of the political scene, during his forty-six years as the Member of Parliament for Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire he has been at the very heart of government under three prime ministers. He is a political obsessive with a personal hinterland, as well known as a Tory Wet with Europhile views as for his love of cricket, Nottingham Forest Football Club and jazz. In Kind of Blue, Clarke charts his remarkable progress from working-class scholarship boy in Nottinghamshire to high political office and the upper echelons of both his party and of government. But Clarke is not a straightforward Conservative politician. His position on the left of the party often led Margaret Thatcher to question his true blue credentials and his passionate commitment to the European project has led many fellow Conservatives to regard him with suspicion - and cost him the leadership on no less than three occasions. Clarke has had a ringside seat in British politics for four decades and his trenchant observations and candid account of life both in and out of government will enthral readers of all political persuasions. Vivid, witty and forthright, and taking its title not only from his politics but from his beloved Miles Davis, Kind of Blue is political memoir at its very best.

Yet he became a passionate preacher and an extraordinary leader, and the rock on which Christ built his church. Bishop Ken Clarke believes that Jesus works the same kind of transformation in his followers today. In this warm-hearted and deeply encouraging book, he draws out lessons from Peter's life for us today. He equips enthusiastic disciples and growing leaders to keep their focus, handle failure and fulfil their potential in God's service.
A delightful children's book that explores the world of imagination as seen through the eyes of seven year old Olivia Whaler-Watson and her two new best friends, Wiggles and Button.

This report provides a detailed empirical analysis of labor market outcomes, and explores how ethnically diverse these outcomes are and how they have changed over time. Using individual-level data from the UK Census and Labour Force Survey, statistical models of employment and self-employment outcomes are estimated. The report looks at how changes in labor market outcomes are related to the demographic characteristics of minority groups including their age structure, educational qualifications, religious affiliation, and patterns of residential location. It also investigates the occupational attainment and earnings of ethnic minority groups in employment. The report analyzes men and women separately, emphasizing the different factors driving labor market behavior for each gender, and it presents implications of the research for government policy towards ethnic minorities in t
