While there is growing interest in participatory research to
address issues around environmental sustainability, the focus of
analysis tends to be on the results or products of the research
rather than the processes involved. Addressing this gap, the
authors draw on their experience of specific mapping techniques,
based on different systemic concepts and theories, that have helped
facilitate, explore and capture different understandings of the
relationships, perspectives and boundaries within situations
involving environmental sustainability. The development of visual
mapping techniques is explained and practical case studies describe
their application in environmental sustainability projects, from
working with farmers and their networks to using visual mapping
with indigenous communities and managing coastal environments. Each
case study provides a 'real world' project example from researchers
with extensive experience of using these techniques to research
different aspects of environmental sustainability over several
decades.
First drafted as a novel called Oyster Point when the author was
only eighteen, The Cassique of Kiawah was finally published
thirty-five years later, in 1859, at the height of William Gilmore
Simms' career. It is a history through fiction of early Charleston,
South Carolina, and completed Simms' series of Revolutionary War
novels. Through satire and realism he portrays the charm and the
corruption of late seventeenth-century Charleston society, and he
contrasts the quiet majesty of the wilderness with the violence of
man. The book was widely reviewed and highly praised, and it
confirmed Simms' position as the nation's best-known novelist.

wild and racked up a big credit card bill. Faced with losing the
farm, Old Mac and his animal friends use creative thinking and
teamwork to transform the farm into a golf course. Question is,
will it be enough to save the farm? Praise for Old MacDonald Had a
Golf Course: "When I first read Old MacDonald Had a Golf Course, I
immediately connected to the story. I grew up on a farm in
Australia and can appreciate Mr. MacDonald's fight to keep his
pride and joy alive and to keep all the animals happy and together.
Times turn tough for Old MacDonald, so he comes up with a great
idea of transforming his farm into a golf course so he can afford
to keep the farm in his hands. It's a truly great story that kids
will love. Good values of helping others and teamwork are all
through the story. It has meaning to my youth growing up with farm
animals as a boy and now my life as a professional golfer." -Stuart

and playing together. Suitable for children and adults alike."

Blood for our future, a Military/Political thriller whose stakes
could not be higher, follows President Harlan Andrews as he
prepares to launch a joint preemptive first strike with Israel
against the world's Islamist terrorists. The strike must be
ruthless and carried out with overwhelming lethal force, because a
top secret Mossad report proves there are just months left before
Mohammed Waleed, the Iranian leader, constructs a series of atomic
weapons. Waleed believes he can bring about an end of days that
will send Islamist to paradise and infidels to hell. The tension
builds as time runs out. The plan is to trick the terrorist into an
attack on Israel. Then they will be fighting America's and Israel's
war on America and Israel's timetable. Only this strike can save
the free world. If the plan works Waleed and his allies will be
annihilated in this "all in" winner-takes-all war. If the plan
fails, America's President and Israel's Prime Minister will be
tried as war criminals.
