Es beinhaltet im ersten Teil personliche Erlebnisse der Grenzuberschreitung nach Westdeutschland und beschreibt kurz in einem Ruckblick den Grund fur den Mauer- und Grenzbau. Es werden die Grunde fur die Revolution und ihre Geschehnisse beschrieben, der Fall der Grenzanlagen, die Probleme der Vereinigung und die Auflosung der DDR. Im zweiten Teil werden die schwierigen Annaherungen der Menschen aus dem sozialistischen und andererseits dem kapitalistischen Deutschland geschildert. Auch in diesem Teil werden personliche Erlebnisse und neue Erfahrungen beschrieben. Im dritten Teil werden neben den personlichen Erfahrungen die Fortschritte der Wiedervereiningung dargelegt und eine kurze Prognose gestellt, wie das Vaterland innerhalb Europas seinen Platz behaupten kann.
