Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is well established in
clinical practice for the diagnosis and management of a wide array
of cardiovascular diseases. This expertly written source offers a
wealth of information on the application and performance of CMR for
diagnosis and evaluation of treatment.
Responding to the increased utilization of MRI in the medical
field, this source offers a wealth of information on the
application and performance of cardiovascular magnetic resonance
imaging in clinical and surgical settings. It details how these
technologies enhance the assessment of cardiac morphology and
function, the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular disease,
and our understanding of the peripheral vasculature.
This book collects the refereed proceedings of the 6th Indian
Conference on Logic and Its Applications, ICLA 2015, held in
Mumbai, India, in January 2015. The volume contains 13 full revised
papers along with 3 invited talks presented at the conference. The
papers were selected after rigorous review, from 23 submissions.
They cover topics related to pure and applied formal logic,
foundations and philosophy of mathematics and the sciences, set
theory, model theory, proof theory, areas of theoretical computer
science, artificial intelligence, systems of logic in the Indian
tradition, and other disciplines which are of direct interest to
mathematical and philosophical logic.
The electric vehicle market has been gradually gaining prominence
in the world due to the rise in pollution levels caused by
traditional IC engine-based vehicles. The advantages of electric
vehicles are multi-pronged in terms of cost, energy efficiency, and
environmental impact. The running and maintenance cost are
considerably less than traditional models. The harmful exhaust
emissions are reduced, besides the greenhouse gas emissions, when
the electric vehicle is supplied from a renewable energy source.
However, apart from some Western nations, many developing and
underdeveloped countries have yet to take up this initiative. This
lack of enthusiasm has been primarily attributed to the capital
investment required for charging infrastructure and the slow
transition of energy generation from the fossil fuel to the
renewable energy format. Currently, there are very few charging
stations, and the construction of the same needs to be ramped up to
supplement the growth of electric vehicles. Grid integration issues
also crop up when the electric vehicle is used to either do supply
addition to or draw power from the grid. These problems need to be
fixed at all the levels to enhance the future of energy efficient
transportation. Electric Vehicles and the Future of Energy
Efficient Transportation explores the growth and adoption of
electric vehicles for the purpose of sustainable transportation and
presents a critical analysis in terms of the economics, technology,
and environmental perspectives of electric vehicles. The chapters
cover the benefits and limitations of electric vehicles,
techno-economic feasibility of the technologies being developed,
and the impact this has on society. Specific points of discussion
include electric vehicle architecture, wireless power transfer,
battery management, and renewable resources. This book is of
interest for individuals in the automotive sector and allied
industries, policymakers, practitioners, engineers, technicians,
researchers, academicians, and students looking for updated
information on the technology, economics, policy, and environmental
aspects of electric vehicles.

Sequential data from Web server logs, online transaction logs, and
performance measurements is collected each day. This sequential
data is a valuable source of information, as it allows individuals
to search for a particular value or event and also facilitates
analysis of the frequency of certain events or sets of related
events. Finding patterns in sequences is of utmost importance in
many areas of science, engineering, and business scenarios. Pattern
Discovery Using Sequence Data Mining: Applications and Studies
provides a comprehensive view of sequence mining techniques and
presents current research and case studies in pattern discovery in
sequential data by researchers and practitioners. This research
identifies industry applications introduced by various sequence
mining approaches.
Gendered Violence in Public Spaces: Women’s Narratives of Travel
in Neoliberal India examines the vulnerability of women in public
spaces in India through the analysis of artistic representations
ranging from emerging digital media, commercial Hindi films and
graphic narratives to narratives of real and lived experiences of
women. In doing so, this volume initiates a scholarly discussion on
the myriad challenges posed by male-dominated public spaces for the
female traveler, demanding women’s rights as free and equal
citizens who can fearlessly inhabit and explore public spaces and
roads. Making the problem of women’s vulnerability in public
spaces their chief focus, the contributing scholars highlight how
ambitious and steadfast women who choose to contest the perils of
the road are censured by manifold forms of emotional, mental,
epistemic, and above all sexual violence. Gendered Violence in
Public Spaces articulates the challenges associated with women’s
mobility to inaugurate cultural and scholarly debates that may help
India re-examine its public spaces against misogyny and gendered
violence.
