Ratna variety of mango had maximum large size fruits. Due to the
overall appearance, colour and sugar acid blend of Ratna variety,
it may get high price in international market. Harvesting with
proper maturity (specific gravity more than 1.00) affects post
harvest life of fruit. CFB boxes followed by CTHT box were
successfully helped to increase the shelf life and quality of
fruits. Attractive packaging and careful handling is necessary to
reduce the post harvest losses. Pre-cooling by the method by
hydro-cooling increased significantly the shelf life of mango
fruits without affecting the quality of fruit.Low temperature
storage helped to increase the availability of fruits. But chemical
changes in fruits were very slow, which reduces its ripening and
overall fruit quality. The products prepared from raw and ripe
mango fruits revealed good at preparation and throughout the
storage period of six months. On the basis of their organoleptic
evaluation, it is noticed that they retained their conditions and
acceptability during storage period of six months at ambient
temperature condition, so there is a scope for processing of Ratna
variety.
The minaturization of the components demands to have better
machining process which fullfills the demand of tighter allowance
and less process effect on component material. Laser Machining is
one of the solution to such problems. The book covers various types
of lasers, system components and process parameters to be employed
for laser machining to obtain the required cut characteristics. The
main problems like taper on kerfwall and dross are dealt and
solution to eliminate such problems is proposed. Also the
application of DOE and Taguchi technique of optimization for kerf
width are discussed. The book is useful for graduate students,
reserachers and practising engineers
