This book discusses the evolution of security and privacy issues
and brings related technological tools, techniques, and solutions
into one single source. The book will take readers on a journey to
understanding the security issues and possible solutions involving
various threats, attacks, and defense mechanisms, which include
IoT, cloud computing, Big Data, lightweight cryptography for
blockchain, and data-intensive techniques, and how it can be
applied to various applications for general and specific use.
Graduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and those working
in this industry will find this book easy to understand and use for
security applications and privacy issues.
The text covers four important areas: digital manufacturing, modern
manufacturing processes, modeling and simulation in smart industry,
and nanotechnology. It further presents mathematical models to
represent physical phenomena and applies modern computing methods
and simulations in analyzing the same. The text covers key concepts
such as abrasive flow machining (AFM), abrasive water jet (AWJ)
machining, and hybrid machining for micro/nanomanufacturing. It
will serve as an ideal reference text for senior undergraduate,
graduate students, and researchers in fields including mechanical
engineering, aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, and
production engineering. Features Discusses sustainable development
aspects of additive manufacturing in industry 4.0 Studies
electrochemical machining processes for micro-machining Presents
experimental Investigation of friction factor and heat transfer
rate in the laminar regime Examines the mechanical and
microstructural characterization of titanium chips using large
strain machining Covers hybrid approaches like electrochemical
machining and magnetic abrasive flow machining The book emphasizes
linking the computer interface with the digital manufacturing
process and their demonstration using commercially available
software like Solid-Edge, ProE, and CATIA. It further discusses
important aspects of digital manufacturing, advanced composites,
artificial intelligence, and modern manufacturing processes.
The SRY protein has only one coding region and it is devoid of
intron. PCR-SSCP analysis revealed nine polymorphic patterns in the
SRY gene locus. The data presented provide a comprehensive view of
the amino acids encoded by the SRY gene in the Indian Murrah
buffaloes. A considerable change was observed in the amino acid
production by the codons of the SRY gene between the Indian Murrah
buffaloes and the Chinese Swamp buffaloes at nine different places.
Any primer pair out of three sets of designed primers in this study
can be used further for sexing of buffalo embryo/prenatal sexing.
The study showed that there exists considerable genetic variation
for SRY gene among the Murrah buffaloes which needs to be explored
further in future studies with large samples.
The drilling process produces burrs on exit surface of a work
piece. The exit burr is the material extending off the exit surface
of the work piece. Their effect on products is important because
they may cause some critical problems such as the deterioration of
surface quality, thus reducing the product durability and
precision. Burr formation affects work piece accuracy and quality
in several ways: dimensional distortion on part edge, challenges to
assembly and handling caused by burrs in sensitive locations on the
work piece, and damage done to the work subsurface from the
deformation associated with burr formation. The optimization
results showed that the combination of low cutting speed, low feed
rate, and high point angle is necessary to minimize burr height.
In the era of genomic revolution the benefit can be reaped by
successful integration of livestock genomics & phenomics to
improve the productivity. This book covers various aspects of
surveying, performance recording & breed descriptor
development. It also includes: Phenotypic scoring-function for
breed Identification; Genetic diversity analysis by STR; Breed
registration in India; Analysis of milk quality traits by HPLC
& GLC; Milk cells as indicator of mastitis; Application of
linear & non-linear models in animal breeding; Data analysis
using SYSTAT & HARVEY'S software; Estimation of breeding values
for animal selections; Molecular markers for goat fecundity; Next
generation sequencing; SNP chip development & genome wide
association studies; Breed DNA signature by computational approach;
Neural computation; Proteomics & its application; SNP discovery
& association studies; In silico modeling of non-synonymous
SNPs & prediction of protein structure & function;
Microarrays in livestock research, Molecular modeling & drug
designing; Stem cell & cloning of animal. This book is rare of
its kind for beginners of research & future livestock molecular
breeders for conceptualization.
Sewage sludge as an uncalled for product of wastewater treatment
poses the challenge to society of disposing of it. Application of
sewage sludge to agricultural land may be beneficial because it can
improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of soils
which may enhance crop growth. While, sewage sludge contains
various heavy metals and it contains a wide variety of pathogens
and can be infectious for different species of animals and plants
as well as for humans. Consequently environmentally sound decisions
need to be based on an integrative evaluation of contaminant
sources and transfer pathways. It is a need of time that
phytoremediation must be approached as a multidisciplinary research
effort. Success will ultimately depend on the employment of a
holistic approach to integrate the work of plant biologist, soil
microbiologist, agronomists, and environmental engineers.
Bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is one of the most
important diseases of solanaceous vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants,
chillies, peppers and potatoes). The disease is soil-borne in
nature and leads to widespread damage and significant loss.
Research on understanding the nature of the pathogen means of
mitigation are not available in one place. In this title
information scattered in various literature is collected and
systematically compiled by crop. The importance of solanaceous
vegetables and their nutritive value, pathogen and bacterial wilt
is discussed in the first chapter. The symptomatology of diseases,
including photographs, their etiology, distribution of race biovars
and their diagnosis, morphological, biochemical physiological
characteristics of pathogen, pathogenecity, serodiagnosis,
molecular diagnosis and protocol for detection of R. solancearumin
soil and plant is discussed in the second chapter. The maintenance
and preservation of culture is covered in the third chapter.
Genomics and the mechanism of pathogenesis is discussed in the
fourth chapter. Research work on losses and epidemiology is
collected in the fifth chapter. In the sixth chapter the management
of diseases is discussed. Conclusion and future research makes up
the final chapter. This collection will be useful for anyone
involved in research, teaching and extension, for post-graduate and
Ph.D students, researchers, extension workers and farmers. It will
help increase knowledge of bacterial wilt of solanaceous crops and
their scientific management to reduce crop losses.
