This book explores the physics of CT dosimetry and provides
practical guidance on best practice for medical researchers and
practitioners. A rigorous description of the basic physics of CT
dosimetry is presented and illustrates flaws of the current
methodology. It also contains helpful (and rigorous) shortcuts to
reduce the measurement workload for medical physicists. The
mathematical rigor is accompanied by easily-understood physical
explanations and numerous illustrative figures. Features: Authored
by a recognised expert in the field and award-winning teacher
Includes derivations for tube current modulation and variable pitch
as well as stationary table techniques Explores abnormalities
present in dose-tracking software based on CTDI and presents
methods to correct them

Celebrated interior designer and renowned tastemaker Charlotte Moss
turns her eye to the garden as a resource for interiors,
entertaining, and good living. Charlotte Moss's greatest muse is
the garden, and this book shows the myriad ways the garden provides
inspiration every day-indoors and outdoors. Touring readers through
her own gardens, Moss offers insights on how to bring the garden
into home life-including ideas for elegant flower arrangements from
the garden and the table settings and menus they inspire, garden
seating for entertaining and relaxing, interior colour schemes
drawn from nature, and much more. Moss also shares with readers key
garden lessons that she has culled from her time spent exploring
magnificent gardens around the world, including French and Italian,
English and Russian, private and public, and also the gardens of
great women, past and present. An extensive resource guide of
notable gardens to visit is also included. With this verdant
volume, Moss shows us-implores us-that to behold our own patch of
beauty and pleasure (in Edith Wharton's words) is not beyond our
reach.
This book reviews the theoretical underpinnings and practice of
dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a radical treatment developed
by Marsha Linehan to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD).
DBT has proven to be effective with a wide range of mental health
problems, including self-harm, suicidality, substance abuse, and
eating disorders that are often difficult to treat. DBT is a
behavioral treatment that views emotion dysregulation as being the
core of BPD and other disorders. Through regular individual
therapy, group sessions, and phone coaching, clients learn more
adaptive behaviors for processing their emotions as well as new
life skills. DBT also encourages therapists to support each other
in their work with challenging clients by participating in
consultation teams. In addition to reviewing standard DBT, this
book describes its transtheoretical applications, adapting specific
protocols to other treatment approaches. Extensive case material
demonstrates how to apply all elements of the DBT process with a
wide variety of clients and mental health issues.
Adding wax patterns to Wednesday is an archive of poems written
during Sarah L Dixon's Quiet Compere Poem-a-Thons in 2015/16.
Between Sarah`s distinct style, and others' imaginative prompts, an
odd world of magical, surreal poems was born.

laughter, happiness and all good things and thoughts, her ministry
is inspiration through the joy of soul music.
This thesis explains the construction of acceptance sampling plans
and procedures. The changes to the Operational Readiness Inspection
for effective application of acceptance sampling are defined and
the automatic computation of acceptance plans through a computer
spreadsheet application is accomplished. A validation is provided
with the results from applying these techniques to an actual
Operational Readiness Inspection at Cannon AFB, NM. Acceptance
sampling has proven itself in the world of industry in
international and military standards. This proven practice, simple
in concept, can produce more credible and convincing results in
many inspected areas selected for sampling.
With the emergence of the Global War on Terror (GWOT), the mental
illness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is increasingly
identified in returning veterans. A 2006 mental health study
released by the Pentagon found 11% of returning OEF veterans and
19% of returning OIF veterans have mental health issues. Of the
veterans sampled, 5% were Army Officers and 2% were Marine
Officers. Thus, the primary research question was: Are the combat
veterans of CGSC Class 08-01 representative of the Army's
statistics on returning veterans with PTSD type symptoms? Using the
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist-Military Version (PCL-M)
and a demographic questionnaire, a survey sample of 297 field grade
officers from a population of 584 combat veterans found 35% of
single tour OEF veterans and 41% of single tour OIF veterans had
PTSD type symptoms. 41% of multiple tour veterans had PTSD type
symptoms. 50% of the survey sample believed mental health
counseling would damage their careers and the percentage increased
to 70% among those with PTSD type symptoms.

the memories of it to kill you. The divorce cannot alter God's
plans for your life.
Boldly and eloquently contributing to the argument against the
prison system in the United States, these provocative essays offer
an ideological and practical framework for empowering prisoners
instead of incarcerating them. Experts and activists who have
worked within and against the prison system join forces here to
call attention to the debilitating effects of a punishment-driven
society and offer clear-eyed alternatives that emphasize working
directly with prisoners and their communities. Edited by Stephen
John Hartnett, the volume offers rhetorical and political analyses
of police culture, the so-called drug war, media coverage of crime
stories, and the public-school-to-prison pipeline. The collection
also includes case studies of successful prison arts and education
programs in Michigan, California, Missouri, Wisconsin, and
Pennsylvania that provide creative and intellectual resources
typically denied to citizens living behind bars. Writings and
artwork created by prisoners in such programs richly enhance the
volume. Contributors are Buzz Alexander, Rose Braz, Travis L.
Dixon, Garrett Albert Duncan, Stephen John Hartnett, Julilly
Kohler-Hausmann, Daniel Mark Larson, Erica R. Meiners, Janie Paul,
Lori Pompa, Jonathan Shailor, Robin Sohnen, and Myesha Williams.
