Standen bislang hauptsachlich der Bereich der staatlichen Sicherheit im Fokus offentlicher Aufmerksamkeit, gewinnen nun auch weitere Bereiche zunehmend an Bedeutung. Der Sammelband widmet sich dem Bevolkerungsschutz und seiner Integration in die Innere Sicherheit. Im Vordergrund steht das Phanomen der Versicherheitlichung. Dabei wird Bevolkerungsschutz als der uber den Katastrophenschutz hinausgehende Begriff verstanden.
