Information on the evolution, taxonomy, morphology, anatomy,
physiology and genetics of grapevines has been scarce and thinly
spread in the literature on horticulture and the plant sciences.
This book aims to provide a concise but comprehensive overview of
the biology and cultivation of the grapevine, accessible to all
concerned with viticulture. After a description of the essential
features of viticulture, including a concise history from antiquity
to modern times, the taxonomy of the grapevine and the evolutionary
processes which gave rise to the diversity within the Vitaceae is
considered. Particular attention is paid to the genera Vitis and
Muscadinia, which are considered a reserve of genetic variation for
the improvement of grapevines. A description of the vegetative and
reproductive anatomy of the grapevine precedes a full discussion of
the developmental and environmental physiology of these fascinating
and economically important plants. The concluding chapter considers
the potential for genetic improvement of grapevines and includes
coverage of the problems encountered, and the methods and
strategies employed in breeding for scions and rootstocks.

Special reference to the role of plant biotechnology and tissue culture in the genetic improvement of grapevines is also made.
As the sun begins to set in the afternoon, a Stetson law student is
repeatedly raped inside her off campus apartment. The police has no
clue except the rapist told her on both occasions to, "strip for
me." Meanwhile, the City and County Investigation Bureau, Detective
Jones is assigned to the case. And, as he's trying to solve the
case several murders occur as a result of a notorious drug king
pin's attempt to kill all the state witnesses who were about to
testify against him. Could there be a connection between the two
murders and rapes? As Jones, tries to put the pieces together, the
killer - or killers - strikes again. No one in Pinellas County is
safe - not children, police or even Jones. Who, is the only
individual with the skills and courage to crack and solve these
cases - but, will it be too late.
Poetry to me is an expression of a Poets soul. As he or she writes
they bud and unfold. "An Urban Poets Conscious Perspective" gives
me the opportunity to bud and unfold my soul to humanity. These 149
poems are a direct result of different emotions I experienced while
being incarcerated. In all actuality as my soul cried my pen filled
with spiritual ink and to this piece of wood my pen I applied. In
this poetic script I only seek to confide and convey a piece of my
soul unto you. I learned while putting this collection of poetry
together that it was very enlightening for me to express my self
through rhythm. I feel that I am only reliving what was once apart
of my ancient African History. I seek to infiltrate your mind and
fill your heart with my urban perspective. For my lyric is my
spirit.
