Now seventy-six years old and reminiscing about my life, I decided to compile all the stories I had written for the Seneca, SC Daily Journal into a book. I was inspired to write the stories while a student in Ruth Story's writing class at Clemson University's Osher Life Long Learning Institute. Ruth is a motivational and enthusiastic teacher as well as a professional writer and editor. She was instrumental in publishing these stories in the paper. Although this book is generally about my early adult life and the experiences I had flying as a Naval Aviator in the Marine Corps and later as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, I have written a tribute to each of my three sons and some of our family experiences. The stories are all true and actually happened however in some cases exaggeration and embellishment has been added to make the stories more interesting. Also, in some cases the names have been changed to protect the privacy of the individual.
