Post-apocalyptic thriller starring Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Zegers and Bill Paxton. An attempt to compensate for the Earth being affected by global warming results in a technological hiccup which turns the planet's surface into one great snowy expanse. The few remaining survivors, who are now holed up in underground bunkers trying to find a solution to the meteorological disaster, are confronted with difficult living conditions and the ever present threat of extinction. Colony 7, which is led by the benevolent and world-weary Briggs (Fishburne), receives a distress call from the nearby Colony 5 and Briggs recruits a team to traverse the frozen landscape and help their fellow survivors.
