Feature-length spin-off special combining two popular 1970s series, 'The Six Million Dollar Man' and 'The Bionic Woman'. After ten years in retirement, Steve Austin (Lee Majors) is persuaded out of seclusion by his former boss, who asks for his help in taking down a group of international terrorists known as Fortress. Jamie Somers (Lindsay Wagner), Austin's ex-girlfriend, is similarly approached. Austin and Somers must now brush up on their old powers and overcome their personal differences in order to face up to the challenge, especially after Austin's pilot son Michael (Tom Schanley) is badly injured and kidnapped by the terrorists.

Astronaut and test pilot Steve Austin (Lee Majors) is involved in a plane crash that leaves him with severe injuries and on the brink of death. Fortunately for him, the government believe they have the technology to rebuild him from experimental parts. Dr Rudy Wells (Alan Oppenheimer) duly sets about equipping the stricken Austin with nuclear-powered bionic limbs and implants, giving him unnatural speed and strength. To repay the government for their help, Steve joins the Office of Scientific Investigation, overseen by Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson), and uses his new powers to help fight crime, espionage and other threats to the nation's peace and stability.
