Kevin, an upwardly mobile family man, is manipulated into an affair by the glamorous Kitty who then manoeuvres the pliable Kevin into confessing the affair to his wife. After an acrimonious scene, she takes the children and leaves. R333 Discovery Miles 3 330 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

This award winning, cerebral play is set in the future but is very much for our time. Driven underground by the "greenhouse" effect on the atmosphere, two people eke out an existence in a wary partnership. She is a "baby factory;" he is genetically engineered to be a survivor. Through three scenes we observe their skirmishes, his denial of her reason for living and their coming to terms with her sickness. This bleak picture of what man is doing to the earth has a moving and hopeful ending a baby cries in the darkness.1 woman, 1 man

The Birds of Shropshire (Hardcover): Leo Smith The Birds of Shropshire (Hardcover)
Leo Smith
R2,352 Discovery Miles 23 520 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

The Birds of Shropshire provides the most comprehensive record of the County's avifauna ever published. Produced by Shropshire Ornithological Society, the book is based on the results of six years fieldwork by over 650 different observers who submitted over 333,400 records. These records have been used to produce maps showing the current distribution of almost 200 different species. Stunning images of 220 species have been contributed by 21 local photographers. The book includes an account for each species, describing its distribution and relative abundance, and the breeding status where relevant. The current breeding and winter maps will be compared with those shown in An Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Shropshire (1992) and with the Shropshire part of the national An Atlas of the Wintering Birds in Britain and Ireland (1986). Historical data, and results of specific local studies, are also incorporated. For many species it will show that massive changes have occurred in their population and distribution. The book will shape conservation priorities in the County for the next 20 years.

The island, Puerto Rico, has become springboard in the traffic of narcotics toward the United States. Times have changed. The criminal unrest is threatening. The island is not as peaceful as it was when he was a student. More people are getting caught in the crossfire. There are factions trying to pull the island toward independence. Law enforcement results are slow. Robin is at odds with the heads of the Bureau. His previous assignments caused some hiccups but they know he gets the job done. He does not believe that keeping the drugs on the island (containment) is the solution. His plan to purchase of 500 kilos of cocaine is the opportunity to bring down the source of the drug distribution. He must go undercover and abandon his identity assuming a new one as a successful drug dealer. His life will be in constant danger.
