Whilst Alex enjoys the company of other expatriates on the island of Capri, Katherine tours around the sights of Naples and Pompeii. However, the different events they experience begin to bring the couple back together.
Barb Barrett, recently divorced, is determined to reinvent herself. She moves into a house once occupied by Vladimir Nabokov and discovers what could be his last unpublished manuscript. From there she begins a painful yet joyous journey.
