Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

When Kit Temple was drafted for the Nowhere Journey, he figured
that he'd left his home, his girl, and the Earth for good. For
though those called were always promised rotation back home, not a
man had ever returned from that mysterious flight.
Shifting our focus from author to publisher and from first
performance to first edition, Zachary Lesser offers a new vantage
point on the drama of Shakespeare, Marlowe, Webster, and their
contemporaries. Renaissance Drama and the Politics of Publication
re-imagines the reception and meaning of plays by reading them
through the eyes of their earliest publishers. Since success in the
book trade required specialization, locating a play within its
publisher's output allows us to see how the publisher read it and
speculated that customers would read it. Their readings often
differ radically from our own and so revise our views of the
drama's engagement with early modern culture. By reading the 1633
Jew of Malta as a part of Nicholas Vavasour's Laudian specialty,
for example, or the 1622 Othello in the context of Thomas Walkley's
trade in parliamentary news, Lesser's groundbreaking study reveals
the politics of these publications - for early modern readers and
for us.
Significant growth in economic activity in the Arctic has added
weight to the argument that projects must be developed responsibly
and sustainably. Addressing growing concerns regarding the
exploitation of the Arctic's natural resources, this timely book
presents and evaluates examples of best practice in Arctic
environmental impact assessment. Timo Koivurova and Pamela Lesser
succinctly synthesise primary data gathered from interviews with
local communities, indigenous peoples, NGOs, government officials
and businesses in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Greenland, Iceland,
Canada, Russia and the USA. Considering all stakeholder
perspectives, they present the regulatory processes of all eight
Arctic countries, and also provide helpful flowcharts that depict
the process graphically for each country. Measuring these practices
against the 1997 Guidelines for Environmental Impact Assessment in
the Arctic, the only Arctic environmental impact assessment
guidance document that has been officially approved by the
ministers of all eight Arctic countries, this book identifies key
areas where adherence to best practice is high, such as stakeholder
outreach and development, as well as those areas that fall short.
Thorough and accessible, Environmental Impact Assessment in the
Arctic will provide an excellent reference for academics in the
fields of law and environmental studies as well as for government
officials and stakeholders who stand to benefit from best practice.
(Book). Composer, lyricist and driving force behind such songs and
stage productions as "Heart and Soul," "Baby, It's Cold Outside,"
Guys and Dolls and The Most Happy Fella, Frank Loesser left an
indelible mark on American music. In this rich and revealing
biography, his daughter profiles this prolific musical mastermind,
piecing together her own memories with those of singers,
songwriters, producers, friends and family members. The result is
an accurate account of what it was like to know Frank Loesser: a
very funny man with a fiery temper whose ferocious commitment to
his art drove singers out of their minds and to their best. This
comprehensive account of Loesser's life and career includes photos,
drawings, lyrics and an index.
