Gustav Landauer was an unconventional anarchist who aspired to a
return to a communal life. His antipolitical rejection of
authoritarian assumptions is based on a radical linguistic
scepticism that could be considered the theoretical premise of his
anarchism. The present volume aims to add to the existing
scholarship on Landauer by shedding new light on his work,
focussing on the two interrelated notions of skepsis and
antipolitics. In a time marked by a deep doubt concerning modern
politics, Landauer's alternative can help us to more seriously
address the struggle for a different articulation of our
communitarian and ecological needs.
- First book to address this repertoire, providing a new resource

sacred music to the context of institutions and other contemporary
composers, including an analysis of his music's unique stylistic
features - Includes transcriptions of source documents and detailed

This book describes the teleoperated android Geminoid, which has a
very humanlike appearance, movements, and perceptions, requiring
unique developmental techniques. The book facilitates understanding
of the framework of android science and how to use it in real human
societies. Creating body parts of soft material by molding an
existing person using a shape-memory form provides not only the
humanlike texture of the body surface but also safe physical
interaction, that is, humanlike interpersonal interaction between
people and the android. The teleoperation also highlights novel
effects in telecommunication. Operators of the Geminoid feel the
robot's body as their own, and people encountering the teleoperated
Geminoid perceive the robot's body as being possessed by the
operator as well.Where does the feeling of human presence come
from? Can we transfer or reproduce human presence by technology?
Geminoid may help to answer these questions.
This open access book provides new perspectives on circular economy
and space, explored towards the definition of regenerative
territories characterised by healthy metabolisms. Going beyond the
mere reuse/recycle of material waste as resources, this work aims
to understand how to apply circularity principles to, among others,
the regeneration of wastescapes. The main focus is the development
over time, and in particular the way how spatial planning and
strategies respond to new unpredictable urgencies and opportunities
related with territorial metabolisms. The book specifically focuses
on living labs environments, where it is possible to tackle complex
problems through a multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach
- including the use of digital spatial decision support environment
- which could be able to include all the involved stakeholders.
Through a spatial scope of circularity, this book describes several
examples including among others ideas from different contexts such
as Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium and Vietnam. Through including
reflections on methodology and representation, as well as on
solutions for circular and healthy metabolisms, the book provides
an excellent resource to researchers and students.

Madame tells the story of a charmingly self-absorbed teenager as he
pursues sexual and intellectual maturity-and the woman of his
dreams-in Communist-dominated Warsaw of the early '70s. His French
teacher, "Madame," is the object of both his affections and
aspirations as news of the Cultural Revolution in the West seeps
through the Communist walls. Libera paces his exuberant young
hero's fulminations, fantasies, and discoveries beautifully,
building a remarkably subtle characterization of a free mind in a
repressive culture. Recalling The Graduate and even the romantic
films of Truffaut, Libera gives us one of the most wily,
unforgettable, and unabashed young narrators in contemporary
fiction.
