Few of us enjoy cleaning: it often feels like a thankless,
repetitive task which we force ourselves to do. Linda Thomas is an
expert, professional cleaner who ran her own ecological cleaning
company for over twenty years. In this unique book, she explores
her passion for cleaning, and argues that cleaning can have a
profound effect not just on the spaces we care for, but on our own
wellbeing and personal development. This lively and readable book
is full of anecdotes, practical examples and ecological cleaning
tips from Linda's decades of cleaning experience. Ultimately she
argues that if we raise our understanding of cleaning, we might
even begin to enjoy it!

Vince Lombardi once said "It's hard to be aggressive, when you're
confused." Some of us think that taking our lives to the next
level, both personally and professionally is a confusing and
complicated process. Guess what... its not And TRUISMS will show
you how living your life by rules that are so self evident and
obvious... you'll say "I knew that "
From Squirt Blossom to Goddess traces Helen McGehee's development
from her childhood in the quiet, conservative city of Lynchburg,
Virginia, to soloist in the Martha Graham Company. Thanks to her
family, Helen grew up surrounded by art, acquired a passion for
sewing, and an even greater passion for, and extensive knowledge of
Greek mythology - all essential preparation for her future career.
The location of Randolph-Macon Woman's College in her hometown was
even more fortuitous in Helen's development as a dancer than her
family. It was at the college that Helen began dancing, experienced
performances by some of the great dance companies of the US, met
Martha Graham, accepted her challenge to forget about being a Latin
teacher and, much to her family's horror, decided to plunge into
the uncertain world of dance. Aside from the perils of surviving in
a precarious profession, working with a genius like Martha Graham
had its own unique challenges and tribulations.
