In commemoration of one hundred years of the Pentecostal movement
(1906-2006) Possibly the most globally significant element in the
revival of charismatic Christianity worldwide is the startling and
sustained growth, over a significant period of time, of the
Afro-Caribbean Pentecostal Churches. In this scholarly and
communicative study, Dr Lionel Etan-Adollo examines the origins of
the Pentecostal movement, traces its development through an
informed examination of practical, social, economic, environmental
and spiritual micro and macro factors, and sketches a future path
for sustained and functional future development of Pentecostalism
with particular reference to its Afro-Caribbean context. Dr Lionel
Etan-Adollo works as a Senior Management Consultant, a Project
Management Professional (PMP) and much more. He has worked on
global projects and has travelled as far as Australia, US, Africa
and many countries in Europe, and has had the opportunity to visit,
worship and study the leading Churches where he has been. This is
his spiritual passion and part of his work with God. He has
completed post-graduate and doctoral degrees in Theology and
Biblical Studies amongst several others. Presently, he is pursuing
another doctoral degree in Oil and Gas Law and Policy.
Dr Lionel Etan-Adollo did not know that he had actually emerged
into a more universal and harmonious revelation and was actually
doing Theology (until five months after his publication of the A-Z
Model of the Word in 1995) at a time Christianity seemed to exist
at the periphery of western civilization and Christians seem to
miss out on what is happening in society and the universe whilst
forgetting that God is the force working out through creation and
His sovereignty remains forever. He believes the essence of the
Holy Spirit goes far beyond what is generally understood, and the
study of Theology (knowing God) is the king of the Arts and
Sciences, and this is exemplified in his presentation of his two
books, A-Z Model of the Word and The Word is Prophecy. Primarily,
he believes the word of God must be understood in a global context
and not in a subjective context. For instance in The Word is
Prophecy, Prophecy is treated in a global context (as the word of
God that is the book of Prophecy) so as to ensure better
understanding of personal prophecies and Prophecy itself. Prophecy
Box) lifts our vision of God beyond words which cannot be given
adequate representation, it leads our comprehension onwards to
fuller understanding and to more valuable discoveries. Also his
model fitted into different biblical issues are able to
revolutionise and re-orientate the presentation of Christianity in
the Church, classroom and society, and also provides insight into
the possibilities of Christians in the wider society. At the depth
of the study of knowing God must be deep spirituality. God must be
at the centre of every enterprise, and at the core of our everyday
course in life. He presently works in the secular world as a Senior
Consultant (Business Process Re-Engineering / IT) and Project
Management Professional (PMP). He is also very active in his local
church, Pastoral and teaching ministry. He has completed
post-graduate and doctoral degrees in Theology and Biblical Studies
amongst several others.
Dr Lionel Etan-Adollo has set the benchmark for evaluation,
comparison and investigation for many jurisdictions in the area of
Oil and Gas Security of Title and Government Investor Relationship
using the comparison between the UK and the US Regime of Upstream
Oil and Gas Licensing as case study. Although the two licensing
regimes are not perfect, but there is so much other oil and gas
jurisdictions could learn from these two jurisdictions as they
continue to develop. There are historical collaboration /
partnerships between investors and governments in the UK
Continental Shelf (UKCS) and the US Gulf of Mexico Outer
Continental Shelf. So far as the foreign or domestic investor in
Petroleum Exploration and Production is concerned the security of
her / his title is a legal sine-qua-non. In both jurisdictions, the
State is superior in law to the foreign investor but despite this
both jurisdictions have demonstrated an attempt at even-handedness.
Both enshrine respect for the rule of law in their constitutional
arrangements and they also try not to act arbitrarily in the
licensing process and in the regulation of the petroleum sector.
Laws are more tested in the US Gulf of Mexico than the UK North
Sea. The two jurisdictions have more in common, we can observe
similarities and differences of issues for and against security of
investors' title rights in both US GOM and UKCS jurisdictions.
Despite the undoubted advantages accruing to the petroleum investor
in both the UK and US jurisdictions compared to all other countries
of the world, the author of this book believes securing investors'
title rights is not a straight path or an easy one way street for
either the government or the investor, but there are directly or
indirectly built in legal checks and balances like an unbreakable
rope being pulled on either side that perhaps sway the powers of
the two partners (government and investor) either side when making
comparisons in the two jurisdictions. We state that there is more
than one way to look at security of title and even after our
exhaustive study, we conclude that investors take a broad brush
approach. We have identified numerous individual issues, but
conclude that there is not one single event in amongst that list
which is dominant. Taking the broad brush, investors are cautious.
Furthermore, investors' collaboration / partnerships with
government; knowing and working in line with what is important to
government, and going green would further enhance security of title
rights in this new carbon economy. Saving the world and making
money are no longer mutually exclusive. In the Concluding chapter,
we have added "Lessons Learnt", the high notes and what is still
required in the two jurisdictions. Dr. Lionel Etan-Adollo has
worked as a Senior Management Consultant and Project Management
Professional on many of the global projects (including Oil and Gas
projects) of renowned conglomerates and transborder corporations,
and has travelled as far as Australia, India, USA, Africa and many
countries in Europe.
