Constructing Online Work-Based Learning Placements offers a
step-by-step approach to understanding and applying the principles
of design and delivery in online work-based learning (WBL)
placements for students. A crucial component of employability
strategies for higher education students, WBL placements are
increasingly in need of adaptation to respond to today's rapidly
expanding online work environments. This evidence-based book
explores the emergent properties and additional value that online
WBL placements provide to student learning and employability
prospects, focusing on effective pedagogy, design, planning and
implementation. The book also presents the Peer Enhanced
e-Placement (PEEP), a pioneering, positively evaluated and
award-winning online WBL placement model that is underpinned by
pedagogical research and theory. The PEEP has been adapted and
adopted by numerous higher education teams organising online WBL
placements, and the case example included in these pages will guide
readers through their own implementation and collaborations.
In Feminism in Coalition Liza Taylor examines how US women of color
feminists' coalitional politics provides an indispensable resource
to contemporary political theory, feminist studies, and
intersectional social justice activism. Taylor charts the
theorization of coalition in the work of Bernice Johnson Reagon,
Audre Lorde, Barbara Smith, the Combahee River Collective, Gloria
Anzaldua, Cherrie Moraga, and others. For these activist-scholars,
coalition is a dangerous struggle that emerges from a shared
political commitment to undermining oppression and an emphasis on
self-transformation. Taylor shows how their coalitional
understandings of group politics, identity, consciousness, and
scholarship have transformed how activists and theorists build
alliances across race, class, gender, sexuality, faith, and
ethnicity to tackle systems of domination. Their coalitional
politics enrich current discussions surrounding the impetus and
longevity of effective activism, present robust theoretical
accounts of political subject formation and political
consciousness, and demonstrate the promise of collective modes of
scholarship. In this way, women of color feminists have been
formulating solutions to long-standing problems in political
theory. By illustrating coalition's vitality to a variety of
practical and philosophical interdisciplinary discussions, Taylor
encourages us to rethink feminist and political theory.

Is the garden a consumption site where identities are constructed?
Do gardeners make aesthetic choices according to how they are
positioned by class and gender? This book presents the first
scholarly analysis of the relationship between media interest in
gardening and cultural identities. With an examination of aesthetic
dispositions as a symbolic mode of communication closely aligned to
peoples' identities and drawing on ethnographic data gathered from
encounters with gardeners, this book maps a typology of gardening
taste, revealing that gardening - how plants are chosen, planted
and cared for - is a classed and gendered practice manifested in
specific types of visual aesthetics. This timely and original book
develops a new area within cultural studies while contributing to
debates about lifestyle and lifestyle media, consumption, class and
methodology. A must read for anybody concerned with or intrigued by
the cultural construction of identification practices.

The definitive guide to maximizing workforce value, The Talent
Revolution exposes work-life longevity as the most influential
driver transforming today's workplace - a competitive edge for
organizations smart enough to capitalize on it. This is a first - a
book that positions older workers as revolutionaries and reveals
how organizations that engage employees across all life stages will
outperform their competitors. With clarity and specificity, it
describes new models, debunks commonly held myths about older
workers, demolishes justifications for traditional structures and
attitudes, and builds the case for a reset that will help smart
companies profit from their intergenerational workforce. Through
case studies, metrics, strategies, and tactics, The Talent
Revolution explores the impact of workforce demographics on the
future of work and provides new, actionable strategies for turning
an aging workforce into a competitive advantage.
