'Eragon' (2006), based on the best-selling novel by Christopher Paolini, follows the fortunes of an orphaned farm boy, Eragon (Edward Speleers), whose life is changed forever when a mystic stone chooses him for its keeper. When the stone turns out to be an egg from which a baby dragon is hatched, Eragon realises he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller (Jeremy Irons) for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon (voiced by Rachel Weisz) must navigate the dangerous terrain of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds.

Independent drama starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly. Novelist Bill Borgens (Kinnear)'s work has suffered since his wife Erica (Connelly) left him for another man three years previously. Instead of putting all his efforts into his writing and personal love life, he is concerned more with her and her new boyfriend. When his daughter Sam (Lily Collins) tells him that her first novel has been accepted by a publisher, he is of course happy for her, but likewise a little disappointed she didn't need his help. Not only is his daughter becoming an accomplished writer in her own right, but his son Rusty (Nat Wolff) is also an aspiring poet and spends most of his time trying to seduce Kate (Liana Liberato), a beautiful but troubled young woman...

Biblical epic directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins. The film tells the story of Noah (Crowe), the last of the pre-flood Patriarchs. Considered a madman by many, Noah has visions of an apocalyptic flood that will wash over the earth and wipe out the sinful from existence. Instructed by these visions to build a vessel that will enable Noah, his family and two of every living creature to live through the deluge and begin the planet's repopulation, he begins construction on an ark. However, his project attracts the attention of his nemesis Tubal-cain (Ray Winstone) and his followers who threaten Noah's family and the ongoing construction of the vessel. The supporting cast includes Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, Nick Nolte and Frank Langella.

All three films in the psychological sci-fi thriller franchise. In 'The Butterfly Effect (2004), Ashton Kutcher stars as Evan Treborn, a young man who, from an early age, has struggled with his disturbing childhood memories. After making the incredible discovery that he can use the notebooks as a vehicle enabling him to journey back into the past so that his adult mind occupies the body of his childhood self, he begins a series of attempts to redirect history with the aim of saving his friends and loved ones from the traumas that have befallen them. But every time Evan changes something in the past, however small, he finds when he returns to the present that his actions have had unexpected and disastrous consequences. In the action-packed sequel, Nick (Eric Lively) and Julie (Erica Durance) are deeply in love, but when Julie dies in a tragic car accident, Nick isn't willing to say goodbye to his soulmate without a fight. Soon discovering that he has the ability to travel into the past to a point before the time of Julie's untimely death, Nick struggles to find a means of saving his one true love despite the increasingly troubling results that his well-intended heroics seem to have on the future. Finally, in 'The Butterfly Effect 3' (2009), Sam Reide (Chris Carmack) has the ability to jump through time, helping police to identify killers. But after agreeing to help an old friend track down her sister's murderer, Sam breaks his golden rule of non-interference with history, and consequently discovers that his actions have created a terrifying serial killer. As the grizzly headcount rises with each passing day, it's now up to Sam to revisit the past in an effort to identify the murderer before he strikes again.
